Lipi Singh, a resident of the Nalanda district of Bihar, is a 2016 batch IPS officer and is always in news for her good work. She is also known as 'Lady Singham'. She also holds the unique distinction of being the first woman officer in the history of the state to take charge as the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of Lucknow. Before being posted as SSP of Lucknow, Saini was posted in Etawah, the hometown of Samajawadi Party supremo, Mulayam Singh Yadav. She was appointed the new Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of Lucknow, replacing Rajesh Pandey in 2016. Interestingly, Saini is also the country’s first married woman IPS officer.
