By Grace Cyril: Laal Singh Chaddha has underperformed at the box office in its first weekend. Compared to its Rs 180 crore budget, the film has hardly earned any money. The film is also one of the victims of the cancel culture as calls for its boycott is trending. This had an affect in its box office collections. LSC's first day collections left fans disappointed after it had a slow start on August 11. Despite it being a holiday, the film, according to a report, could garner only Rs 11.50 crore. On Day 3, August 13, Laal Singh Chaddha registered a huge drop, taking the film's three-day total to around Rs 27.96 crore. After a break of four years, Aamir surely would have expected better theatrical prospects from his film. As per trade analyst Taran Adarsh, LSC earned Rs 27.9 crore. It registered an improvement of around 20 per cent on Day 3 with collections of around Rs 8.75 crore. A report on Boxofficeindia.com states that the film was expected to grow by atleast 40 per cent on Saturday but could only manage 20 per cent rise in box office numbers. The report further states that Delhi/Uttar Pradesh and East Punjab contributed around 40 per cent of the all India business.
