Navratri is a nine-day festival that is celebrated during the Hindu month of Chaitra. This also marks the beginning of the Hindu New Year. ‘Nav’ means nine and ‘ratri’ means night and therefore, Navratri is celebrated over a period of nine days. Chaitra Navratri 2023 Day 6: Maa Katyayani, Date, time, significance,and mantras

By India Today Information Desk: Goddess Maa Katyayani is worshipped on the sixth day of Chaitra Navratri. The planet Brihaspati, according to popular Hindu belief, is ruled by Goddess Maa Katyayani. It is believed that Goddess Parvati was born at the home of sage Katya and this form of Goddess Parvati is worshipped as Maa Katyayani. The day is primarily based on white colour which connects with the Goddess Maa Katyayani. It also denotes attributes such as serenity, purity, simplicity, and cleanliness. The representation of deep ties, affection, and adoration is done by wearing white on the sixth day of Navratri. It is thought to bring the Goddess blessings as well as a sense of inner calm and security. Goddess Maa Katyayani is a form of Shakti who is commonly represented to be riding a lion and has four limbs and a sword. She is the daughter of Sage Katyayan, and worshippers bring honey to her as prasad. As flowers, marigolds, or roses are presented to this version of Goddess Durga. Devotees who have sincere devotion and piety can satisfy her. CHAITRA NAVRATRI 2023 DAY 6: DATE AND TIME On the sixth day of Chaitra Navratri, the Brahma Muhurta begins at 4:44 am and ends at 5:31 am.
