Posology Adults and adolescents 12 years and above The daily recommended dose is 5 mg (one film-coated tablet). Elderly: Adjustment of the dose is recommended in elderly patients with moderate to severe renal impairment (see Renal impairment below). Renal impairment:The dosing intervals must be individualized according to renal function (eGFR – estimated Glomerular Filtration Rate). Refer to the following table and adjust the dose as indicated. To use this dosing table, an estimate of the patient's creatinine clearance (CLcr) in ml/min is needed. Indications and Usage for Levocetirizine Chronic Idiopathic Urticaria Levocetirizine dihydrochloride tablets are indicated for the treatment of the uncomplicated skin manifestations of chronic idiopathic urticaria in adults and children 6 years of age and older. Levocetirizine Dosage and Administration Levocetirizine dihydrochloride tablets are available as 5 mg breakable (scored) tablets, allowing for the administration of 2.5 mg, if needed. Levocetirizine dihydrochloride tablets can be taken without regard to food consumption. Chronic Idiopathic Urticaria Adults and Children 12 Years of Age and Older The recommended dose of Levocetirizine dihydrochloride tablets is 5 mg (1 tablet) once daily in the evening. Some patients may be adequately controlled by 2.5 mg (1/2 tablet) once daily in the evening. Children 6 to 11 Years of Age The recommended dose of Levocetirizine dihydrochloride tablets is 2.5 mg (1/2 tablet) once daily in the evening.
