LIC Share Price, LIC Share Listing, LIC IPO Listing: Insurance giant Life Insurance Corporation's (LIC) share made a weak stock market debut on Tuesday with its shares listing at Rs 872 in the pre-opening session on the NSE. The stock was listed at Rs 867.20 on the BSE in the pre-opening session at 9:45 AM. At 10:05 AM, the insurance behemoth's shares were trading at Rs 902.45 on the NSE and Rs 901.35 on the BSE. LIC which is the country's largest insurer had fixed the issue price of LIC shares at Rs 949 apiece for allotment to investors. It witnessed a good response from domestic investors, fetching Rs 20,557 crore. The price band of the issue was Rs 902-949 a share. LIC IPO closed on May 9 and shares were allocated to bidders on May 12. LIC offered discounts to its policyholders and retail investors. While policyholders got the shares at a price of Rs 889, retail investors got at Rs 904 apiece. The LIC IPO -- India's largest to date -- closed with nearly 3 times subscription, predominately lapped up by retail and institutional buyers, but foreign investor participation remained muted. So far, the amount mobilised from the Paytm IPO in 2021 was the largest ever at Rs 18,300 crore, followed by Coal India (2010) at nearly Rs 15,500 crore and Reliance Power (2008) at Rs 11,700 crore. LIC grey market premium rises further as the Rs 21,000

The initial public offering of the Life Insurance Corporation of India has commanded a 9 percent premium over its upper price band in the grey market as the Rs 21,000-crore issue opens for subscription on May 4. In fact, the traded grey market premium has increased from 5 percent, quoted last week. As per the data by IPO Watch and IPO Wala, LIC traded at a premium of Rs 85 per share in the grey market on Wednesday, against Rs 45 premium last Thursday. This translated into an expected listing premium for LIC around 10 percent over the upper price band. The price band for the offer is Rs 902-949 per share. Employees and retail investors will get shares at a discount of Rs 45 a piece to the final offer price, while the discount for policyholders is Rs 60 per share to the final IPO price. • LIC shares closed almost flat at Rs 876.25 per share after ending at Rs 875.45 on the BSE.The state-owned insurance giant LIC's shares closed nearly 8 per cent from its allotment price of Rs. 949 on its market debut on Tuesday. • • The tepid listing alsoresulted in a sharp drop in the market capitalisation (m-cap) of the country's largest insurer. • At the issue price of Rs 949, the m-cap of LIC stood at Rs 6,00,242 crore. At the listing price, the valuation of LIC dipped to Rs 5,57,675 crore, resulting in a loss of around Rs 42,500 crore. • Based on its last trade price of Rs 883 per share, LIC's market valuation was Rs 5,58,497.30 crore on Wednesday. • Still, the country's largest insurer, LIC, is India's fifth most valuable company. • The insurance behemoth's shares had ended at Rs 875.45, about 7.75 per cent lower than its issue price and almost flat from its listing price. On the BSE, LIC launched at Rs 867.20 per share, a discount of 8.62 per cent from its mega initial public offering (IPO) allotment price of Rs 949. The tepid listing has resulted in a sharp drop in the market capitalisation of the country's largest insurer. At the issue price of Rs 949, the market capitalisation of LIC stood at Rs 6,00,242 crore. At the listing price, the valuation of LIC dipped to Rs 5,57,675 crore, resulting in a loss of around Rs 42,500 crore. New Delhi: The much-awaited listing of Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) is expected to take place on Tuesday, May 17 with experts believing that the insurance behemoth might have a flat listing. The insurance major had set its price band for the Initial Public Offer (IPO) at Rs 902 to Rs 949 per equity share. According to recent grey market patterns, the LIC`s unlisted shares were selling at Rs 936 per share on Saturday, a discount of Rs 13 to the IPO price band`s upper range. News Agency IANS, quoting Brokerage house Swastika Investmart, said that current market situation such as increased inflation statistics, FII outflows, currency weakness, geopolitical and rate hike-related worries might lead to a "flat" listing. However, the stock`s modest float may limit the stock`s post-listing decline. The initial public offering (IPO) of Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) closed on Monday (May 09), the share allotment was made on May 12. Following a 6-day bidding process that opened on May 04, the LIC IPO was subscribed 2.95 times on the final day.
