Mukesh Kumar Gupta, Member Secretary, DSLSA, stated that cases such as cheque bounce, civil cases, motor accident claim tribunal matters, bank recovery, matrimonial disputes (except divorce cases), land acquisition, and those involving labour disputes were taken up for disposal. Compoundable traffic challans were also taken up for disposal, he said. In the seven District Court Complexes, 351 Lok Adalat Benches were constituted to deal with all types of civil and criminal compoundable cases, he said. "This is the highest referral figure to date. These include 1,55,000 traffic challans; 14,912 traffic challans which were pending in courts; 38,111 pending cases; and 23,586 pre-litigation cases," he said, adding that in one such case, an insurance company was directed to pay Rs 1.24 crore to the dependants of a motor accident victim. 1.67 lakh cases settled in National Lok Adalat with settlement amount of Rs 3099 cr

New Delhi, May 14: Around 1,67,693 cases were settled in the second National Lok Adalat of 2023, which was organized by Delhi State Legal Service Authority (DSLSA) under the aegis of National Legal Service Authority (NALSA) in all district court complexes, High Court of Delhi and Tribunals on Saturday. The total settlement amount in these cases is Rs3099.63 crore. Mukesh Kumar Gupta, Member Secretary, DSLSA stated under the able stewardship and guidance of Justice Siddharth Mridul, Judge, High Court of Delhi and Executive Chairperson, DSLSA has always endeavoured to promote ADR techniques for dispute resolution amongst the parties, both at the pre-institutional stage as well as at the litigative stages. He added that a diverse bouquet of cases such as cases under Section 138 Negotiable Instruments Act, Criminal Compoundable Cases, Civil Cases, MACT Cases, Bank Recovery matters, Matrimonial Disputes (except divorce cases), Land Acquisition cases, and cases involving Labour Disputes, cases under Arbitration and Conciliation Act- were taken up for disposal this time. National Lok Adalat disposes 2023 cases in Delhi

New Delhi: The National Lok Adalat held at the six district courts and consumer forums on Saturday disposed of 2023 cases and disbursed a settlement amount of Rs 7.73 crore. According to Delhi State Legal Services Authority (DSLSA), the year's second monthly National Lok Adalat was organized in all the district courts here in which a total 54 benches were constituted and 1910 cases were disposed. It said the cases which were at pre-litigative and pending stage in district courts here were disposed of and the settlement amount of Rs 5.73 crore was disbursed. The authority said the Lok Adalats were also organized in all the three Debt Recovery Tribunals in which 10 cases were disposed and settlement amount was approximately Rs 1.18 crore was given. It also said that Lok Adalats were also organized in district consumer forums here where 65 cases were settled and settlement amount of Rs 81.22 lakh was awarded. "Total 2023 cases were settled today in which settlement amount was approximately Rs 7.73 crore and there would be no further appeals," the DSLSA said in its release. Delhi Traffic Police: 1.79 Crore Challans Pending, Lok Adalat to be Organised for Settlement On Feb 11

Delhi: More than 1.79 crore challans issued by the traffic police and cameras have been pending in Delhi-NCR. Now, according to the Delhi Traffic Police, a total of 144 Lok Adalats will be set up for the disposal of challans/notices across Delhi. 1000 pending challans will be sent to each Adalat. A target has been set to settle 1,44,000 traffic challans in a day in these Lok Adalats. Delhi Traffic Police and Delhi State Legal Services Authority are going to jointly organize these Lok Adalats. Both departments have uploaded the complete details of these courts on their respective websites. Lok Adalat: Procedure to Download Challan Slip The drivers who wish to come for the hearing Lok Adalat can download their notice or challan slip from the website of Delhi Traffic Police. For this, the drivers have to log on to the Delhi Police website http://traffic.delhipolice.gov.in/notice/lokadalat. According to officials, the above link on this website will open at 10 am on today, and it will be operational till the morning of February 11.
