Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge with party leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi. (PTI) The Congress's five promises to the people of Madhya Pradesh before the election are- 1. Gas cylinder at ₹500 2. ₹1500 to every woman per month 3. 100 units of free electricity, 200 units halved 4. Farm loan waiver 5. Implementation of old pension scheme Senior Congress leader Another Congress leader said Priyanka has chosen Mahakoshal as the region was left out from her brother, Rahul Gandhi's Bharat Jodo Yatra, which moved through the state's Malwa and Central India regions and received a very good response from the public. Rajya Sabha MP and former chief minister "We will fight the elections in Madhya Pradesh under the leadership of Kamal Nath. So, he will be the CM’s face,” Singh told reporters in Budhni. Assembly polls are likely to be held at the end of the year in MP, where the Congress emerged as the largest party in the 2018 polls but its government fell in March 2020 following a rebellion by Jyotiraditya Scindia and more than 20 of his loyalist MLAs, paving the way for the Bharatiya Janata Party to return to power. Madhya Pradesh Election 2023: Priyanka Gandhi To Kick Off Congress Poll Campaign From Jabalpur

Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra is set to launch the party's campaign for the upcoming Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections from Jabalpur on Monday. Prior to the campaign kick-off, she will begin with a prayer at the banks of the Narmada river, news agency PTI reported quoting a party spokesperson. Jabalpur, located in the Mahakoshal region of the state, holds significance due to its substantial tribal voter population. In the previous Assembly polls held in 2018, the Congress secured victory in 11 out of the 13 Scheduled Tribe reserved seats in the eight-district division, while the Bharatiya Janata Party won the remaining two. "On Saturday, Priyanka ji will commence the party's campaign, Sankalp 2023, by addressing a public gathering at Shahid Smarak around 11:15 am. She will arrive in Jabalpur at approximately 10:30 am and proceed to Gwarighat to offer prayers to the Narmada river," stated Jagat Bahadur Singh, the Mayor of Jabalpur and the city chief of the Congress, in an interview with PTI on Sunday. According to PTI, Priyanka Gandhi will also pay homage to Rani Durgavati, who bravely fought against the Mughals and sacrificed her life. Singh added that the rally is expected to draw a crowd of at least two lakh people. "We believe that people in the Mahakoshal area, specifically the Jabalpur division with its eight districts, feel neglected by the BJP. We performed well in this region during the previous elections, and this time we are confident of sweepi...

Madhya Pradesh election 2023: Anxiety in BJP after RSS survey projected Congress victory, claims INC Twitter handle

Image Source : PTI/FILE Congress is hoping to return to power in MP Madhya Pradesh election 2023: Congress' official handle on Monday published a detailed post in which the grand old party claimed that the grand old party is going to win the upcoming Madhya Pradesh election 2023. The post referred to several surveys one of them allegedly conducted by RSS (Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh). According to Congress, all the surveys projected its victory in the state. "Assembly elections are to be held in Madhya Pradesh by the end of this year. Before the elections, many surveys have come out in which the Congress government is returning in the state. Also, BJP will be reduced to less than 55 seats. The Congress ran the government for 15 months under the leadership of an undisputed and experienced leader like "BJP has 18 years of liabilities and incomplete announcements which has created a serious anti-incumbency wave. In the last 5 months, 6 different surveys have come out regarding the Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections 2023. In all the surveys, the seats of the BJP are continuously decreasing. Not only this, the party is losing badly even in the BJP survey," it added. In 2018 election, Congress won but then party leader "These surveys caused anxiety in Madhya Pradesh BJP and it has also been suggested that 60 per cent BJP MLAs should not be given tickets," it claimed. According to Congrss Twitter post, 6 surveys have been published so far- January 2023 A survey of Sangh went viral...

Congress sounds 2023 bugle in M.P., but familiar challenges may haunt still

On the day that former Congress president Rahul Gandhi made a bold prediction that his party will sweep the 2023 Assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh, the party’s State unit sounded the election bugle in its new year wishes to MP residents. The Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee greeted the citizens in all the major cities of the State with ‘ Naya Saal, Nayi Sarkaar’ (new year, new government), declaring its State president and former Chief Minister Kamal Nath as the ‘ Bhavi Mukhyamantri’ or the ‘CM in waiting’. In his new year wishes to his party colleagues, Mr. Nath also called upon them to take the pledge to form a new government while cornering the Shivraj Singh Chouhan-led BJP government as one that has been “identified with scams, corruption, atrocities on women, tribals and Dalits, distressed farmers and unemployed youth”. A section of the party that underscored the political importance of the coming year and laid out its campaign blueprint through its latest moves believes that it is well poised to take on the ruling BJP. The confidence exhibited by the local leadership, as well as Mr. Gandhi in Delhi, also stems from the anti-incumbency factor coming from a long BJP rule, as well as recent positives in the year gone by. These include the Congress’s performances in the mayoral elections in the middle of the year and the encouraging response Mr. Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra received in its MP leg. However, the road to Vallabh Bhawan is paved with many challenges as wel...
