New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party leaders and workers are protesting near the BJP offices in Delhi amid tight security, day after the arrest of Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Mr Sisodia reached theRouse Avenue court and was produced before JudgeMK Nagpal. The CBI court granted five days of custody of Manish Sisodia till March 4. Delhi Police has erected barricades on several roads leading to DDU Marg where both the BJP headquarters and the AAP office are located. Protests were also organised in several other states across the country. Many protesting AAP workers were detained by the police. NEW DELHI: A Delhi court on Friday denied bail to former deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia in a CBI case related to alleged irregularities in implementation of Delhi Excise Policy 2021-22 stating that he can "prima facie be held to be architect of the said criminal conspiracy". The court of special judge MK Nagpal observed that Sisodia had "played the most important and vital role" in the criminal conspiracy and was "deeply involved" in formulation as well as implementation of the policy to ensure achievement of objectives of the said conspiracy. "The evidence collected so far clearly shows that the applicant through co-accused Vijay Nair was in contact with the South lobby and formulation of a favourable policy for them was being ensured at every cost," the judge said in a 34-page order. ₹2.2 crore through his close aide Dinesh Arora from businessman Amit Arora to Manish Sisodia received kickbacks worth ₹2.2 crore through his close aide Dinesh Arora from businessman Amit Arora to favour the latter in the now-scrapped Delhi excise policy 2021-22, the Enforcement Directorate said. (PTI) This is the first time that an agency probing the alleged irregularities in the excise policy — the Central Bureau of Investigation is conducting a parallel probe — has quantified and directly linked a bribe amount to Sisodia. A Delhi court on Tuesday took cognisance of the charge sheet, filed on May 4, and summoned Sisodia on June 1. The charge sheet, which has been reviewed by HT, said, “The investigation has revealed that Dinesh Arora (a close aide of Sisodia) and Amit Arora (owner of Buddy Retail Pvt Ltd, arrested on November 30 last year) were involved in various illegal activities pertaining to the Delhi excise Policy 2021-22 and its implementation in conspiracy with other players of this scam. A federal investigating agency of India has arrested a top minister in the capital territory of New Delhi in connection with alleged irregularities in a liquor policy, the most high-profile arrest in the case so far. Manish Sisodia, the deputy chief minister in the Delhi government, was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) late on Sunday night after almost eight hours of questioning. He was produced in a local court on Monday.
