New year, new phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Phase Five kicked off with Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, out now in theaters. (The Disney Plus release is currently in the ether.) Part of the Multiverse Saga (beginning with Phase Four and ending with Phase Six), Ant-Man 3 hasn't raked in the most glowing reviews, but Jonathan Majors as villain Kang is a universal highlight. As for Phase Five TV shows heading to Disney Plus, look out for season 2 of What If...?, Secret Invasion, season 2 of Loki, Ironheart, Echo, Agatha: Coven of Chaos and Daredevil: Born Again. by 5 months ago If you love Marvel movies, you’ll love 2023 because we’re getting even more of the MCU next year! Since 2008, the Marvel Studios’ MCU is at another turning point as we’re standing at the beginning of If Phase Four was all about planning, Phase Five looks set to be about pulling that plan off, and it all has to do with the introduction of Kang the Conqueror in the third Ant-Man movie. But that’s not the only Marvel movie premiering in 2023. Marvel movies 2023 There are five movies based on Marvel characters getting theatrical releases this coming year. Three of those are produced by Marvel Studios and set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Here is the list of Marvel Studios movies debuting in movie theaters in 2023: • Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania– February 17, 2023 • Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3– May 5, 2023 • The Marvels– July 28, 2023 The MCU movies are considered must-see, but they aren’t the only must-see Marvel movies coming out this year. Sony is also releasing films from its Sony Pictures Universe of Marvel Characters franchise. Here are all of the Sony Marvel movies coming to movie theaters in 2023: • Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse– June 2, 2023 • Kraven the Hunter– October 6, 2023 Sony’s success with its new universe of Marvel characters started with Venom and they will be hoping to carry that into this year (as well as the next with 2024’s Madame Web).

Let’s start with Marvel. In the “near” term, Captain America: Brave New World moves from May 3rd, 2024, to July 26th, 2024, and Thunderbolts has been delayed from that July slot to December 20th, 2024. (Last month, reports claimed that Thunderbolts was delaying filming Blade has been pushed from September 6th, 2024, to February 14th, 2025, and Fantastic Four is moving from that February date to May 2nd, 2025. Avengers: The Kang Dynasty has been pushed from that May date by an entire year to May 1st, 2026, while the follow-up, Avengers: Secret Wars, has also been pushed a year to May 7th, 2027. One major movie is coming out sooner, however: Deadpool threequel is moving up six months to May 3rd, 2024. For Star Wars, 2026 is set to be a banner year. An untitled film was pushed from December 2025 to May 22nd, 2026, while a second untitled Star Wars is now scheduled to release on December 18th, 2026. In April, Disney announced that Star Wars movies are on the way, with one bringing back Daisy Ridley as Rey Skywalker. It’s unclear which of these movies is tied to which date. The Avatar series is keeping up tradition, with the third Avatar film delayed a year to December 19th, 2025. And we’ll be waiting even longer for the next two movies, which were both pushed out by three years: the fourth is now scheduled for December 21st, 2029, and the fifth is set for December 19th, 2031.
