Ms. Marvel’s Death Is Actually Heroic But It Happens In The Wrong Comic

The highly publicized and controversial death of Ms. Marvel turns out to be quite a heroic end to a popular character, but it happens in Amazing Spider-Man, a book Ms. Marvel is barely associated with. The main concern during the lead-up to Champions or Captain Marvel. Instead, Kamala Khan's last moments took place in Amazing Spider-man #26, by Zeb Wells, John Romita Jr., Scott Hanna, Marcio Menyz, Erick Arciniega, and Joe Caramagna, when the series villain, Rabin, plunges the Blade of Decay into Ms. Marvel's back, thinking she was actually his chosen sacrificial victim, Mary Jane. Ms. Marvel's death prevents Rabin from becoming a god and bringing death to the world. In the end, Kamala's courageous sacrifice was a very fitting homage to the character. Her final words echo the proclamation she made during her heroic coming-of-age, way back in Ms. Marvel #5, that "good is not a thing you are, it's a thing you do."
