The exam is still scheduled to be held on May 21. The candidates had demanded a delay of about 4-8 weeks stating they there is not enough time to prepare as NEET PG 2021 counselling and NEET PG 2022 exam are clashing. Not just the aspirants but doctors from across India including FAIMA, IMA had sought postponement too as the NEET PG 2021 counselling ended late. The SC noted that the government is trying to bring back the schedule of examination on time as it was affected due to the pandemic. NTA NEET 2022 latest update: NEET UG to be postponed? Delhi High Court to hear plea today

The Delhi High Court is scheduled to hear today a petition by several aspirants of National Eligibility cum Entrance Test-Undergraduate (NEET-UG) seeking postponement of the competitive examination for the year 2022 which is scheduled to be held on July 17. Justice Sanjeev Narula will hear the petition filed fifteen aspirants for undergraduate medical and dental course, who belong to different states. The petitioners seek to set aside the date fixed for the entrance test and re-schedule it after four to six weeks on several grounds including that the schedule of the national level examinations i.E NEET, JEE, and Central Universities Entrance Test (CUET), is “unorganised” and the same has “caused immense mental trauma and harassment resulting in 16 reported suicides of young students leaving their families in a state of despair”. The petition, filed through advocate Mamta Sharma, stated that the board examination ended in mid of June 2022 and the students have been forced to prepare for three national-level examinations without getting sufficient time to prepare. "Respondents scheduled National Level examinations CUET, NEET- UG, and JEE in the month of July 2022 having a time gap of 1 or 2 days, wherein the syllabus of all three examinations is completely different," the petition said.
