Oppo Reno 8 Pro review: a reliable smartphone with a long

A reliable smartphone with plenty of power, the Oppo Reno 8 Pro is an excellent option for those who don't mind spending a bit of cash but don't want to pay an eye-watering amount for a high-end flagship. There are a few minor issues like the fact that it isn't fully waterproof but overall it's got a lot going for it. There was a problem. Please refresh the page and try again. By submitting your information you agree to the This Oppo Reno 8 Pro review is for anyone who wants an accomplished smartphone without spending the top-end prices - it’s a strong performer, the design is lightweight and the display looks great. Following on from the Oppo Reno 7 Pro which was released back in 2021, the Oppo Reno 8 Pro has made a few changes to improve on what came before it. The screen has been sized up from 6.55-inches to 6.7-inches with a 120Hz refresh rate, up from 90Hz before. To boost performance, there’s a brand new MediaTek Dimensity 8100-MAX processor and 80W Super VOOC charging as well. Oppo Reno 8 Pro review: design and screen (Image credit: Future) With Oppo's telltale camera module style for 2022 that curves up from the body of the phone, the Oppo Reno 8 Pro stands out against the rest of the mid-range smartphone crowd. You can't deny that it looks seriously sleek. Launching in two elegant colourways, you’ll be able to buy it in Glazed Black and Glazed Green. Both options are glossy and reflective, which looks great but does mean they are prone to fingerprint marks althoug...

First off, it has 80W charging, which is pretty fast for a mid-range phone. Sure, some of the fastest mobiles currently available top out at 150W, but 80W is fast enough to feel impressive without ruining a phone’s battery straightaway. The MediaTek chipset here is powerful enough for most tasks — including games if you don’t need the fanciest graphics — and makes navigating the phone feel pretty snappy. (Image credit: Future) There are some things to really like about this phone, though it’s certainly not perfect. The angular and iPhone-inspired design makes the handset uncomfortable to hold for long periods of time, and the device won’t set the world on fire from a photography perspective, though its capabilities really aren't that bad for its price point. Even looking outside Oppo’s handsets, at options like the That is to say, while the Reno is fine for its price, it’s not exactly eye-catching or flashy in any way that makes it stand out. So if you buy this phone, you won’t really be disappointed, but the grass may really be greener somewhere els...
