Palakkad: A potentially catastrophic accident was narrowly avoided when a bus collided with a car that had stopped at a signal. The quick thinking and skill of the car driver prevented a major disaster. The incident occurred at the Kazhchaparambu junction on the Palakkad-Thrissur National Highway at approximately 9:30 on Tuesday morning. The impact of the collision sent the car spiraling out of control, causing it to veer into the opposite lane. However, displaying the exceptional presence of mind and remarkable driving skills, Danst maneuvered the car through the oncoming traffic on the opposite lane, ultimately reaching the other side unharmed. Reflecting on the incident, Danst explained, "I had come to a complete stop at the signal, but when I saw the bus approaching at high speed, I instinctively released the handbrake in an attempt to evade the collision. The bus rammed into the back of my car, sending it out of control. At that moment, I was concerned about where the car would end up. Fortunately, there was a gap between the passing vehicles on the opposite lane."
