PAN Card Application

Application for PAN through Online Services One single character initial is allowed in middle name field in PAN application for individual category. (Please note that name in proof of identity and proof of address should exactly match with the name in application). For New PAN applications, in case of Individual and HUF applicants if Address for Communication is selected as Office, then Proof of Office Address along with Proof of residential address is to be submitted to Protean w.e.f. applications made on and after 1st November 2009. As per RBI guidelines, the entities making e-commerce transactions are required to provide PIN (Personal Identification Number) while executing an online transaction. Accordingly, before making payment for online PAN/TAN applications using credit card / debit card / net banking, please ensure that the PIN is obtained from your respective Banks. New PAN : This form should be used when the applicant has never applied for a PAN or does not have PAN allotted to him. An applicant can visit Reprint of PAN card : This application should be used when PAN has already been allotted to the applicant but applicant requires a PAN card. A new PAN card bearing the same PAN is issued to applicant. While filling this form, applicant should not select any of the check boxes on the left margin of the form. How to Update PAN Card on NSDL e-Gov (Protean) Portal You can easily update/correct your details in a PAN card via NSDL (now Protean) website by following the below-mentioned steps: Step 1: Visit Step 2: Under Services Section, Click on “ PAN”. Step 3: Click “Apply” under the “ Step 4: From the ‘Application Type’ dropdown menu, select ‘Changes or Correction in existing PAN data/Reprint of PAN Card (No changes in Existing PAN Data)’. Step 5: From the ‘Category’ dropdown menu, select the correct category of the assessee, For example, if the PAN is registered in your name, select ‘Individual’ from the list. Step 6: Now, enter your name, date of birth, email address, and mobile number. Step 7: Fill the Captcha and click on “Submit ”. Step 8: Your request will be registered and a Token Number will be sent to the email ID provided by you. You can continue the process by clicking the button given below it. Step 9: After you proceed, you will be redirected to the PAN card update form – there are three options to submit your documents, click on “Submit scanned images through e-Sign on NSDL e-gov” . Step 10: Fill in all the necessary details such as your father’s name, mother’s name (optional), your Aadhaar number and click on ‘Next ’. Step 11: You will now be redirected to a new page where you can update your address. Step 12: Upload all the necessary documents such as proof of address, proof of age, proof of identity and PAN. Kindly note there is Intermittent Fluctuation, Time Out & Delay with response in Aadhaar Demo/eKYC/OTP Authentication Services.
