Panchayats To Apply Online For Awards

Jaipur: Panchayati raj secretary Naveen Jain on Friday said under the revamped National Panchayat Award-2023 it has been made mandatory for every gram panchayat to apply online for the awards. The online process of submitting applications will start from September 10 with the launch of the portal, he informed. Applications can be submitted till October 31. On the basis of online applications, best panchayati raj institutions will be selected for awards on the basis of their last year’s (2021-22) performance by October 31, 2022. Jain directed all the districts to organise training sessions at sub-division levels for this and work with promptness on the process of applying for the awards. He was addressing online training of panchayati raj award evaluation committees constituted at the district level on the procedure of National Panchayat Award under the panchayati raj department. “This time panchayat awards will be given on the basis of last year’s work on nine themes of Sustainable Development Goals,” he said.
