Nine panchayats in Karnataka win national awards

Nine rural local bodies of Karnataka have won the national-level panchayat awards for efficient implementation of schemes for transformation of rural areas. The six panchayats that have won the Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Panchayat Raj Sashaktikaran are: Hassan Zilla Panchayat, Pandavapura Taluk Panchayat, Bengaluru East Taluk Panchayat, Tumminakatte Gram Panchayat, Yadaganahalli Gram Panchayat, and Karna Kuppe Gram Panchayat. Bengaluru East Taluk Panchayat has bagged the award for providing land for all 11 GPs in Anekal for solid waste management, for encroachment clearance drive, and for digitisation of records, according to Bengaluru Urban Deputy Commissioner J. Manjunath. The Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Panchayat Raj Sashaktikaran award is given to the best-performing panchayat in recognition of the good work done by PRIs at each level for improving delivery of services and public goods. Hemmanahalli Gram Panchayat has bagged the Nanaji Deshmukh Rashtriya Gaurav Gram Sabha Puraskar. Rajankunte Gram Panchayat in Bengaluru North taluk has received the Namma Grama Namma Yojane Puraskar, while Munuganahalli Gram Panchayat has received the best child-friendly panchayat award. Bhubaneswar: Ganjam district of Odisha brought glory to the state by winning maximum awards at the National Panchayat Awards-2023. Ganjam, which is home district of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, bagged the Best District Panchayat award under the Nanaji Deskhmukh Sarvottam Panchayat Satat Vikas Puraskar category at National Conference on Incentivization of Panchayats-cum-Award Ceremony held at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi today. Ganjam Collector Dibya Jyoti Parida and his team including Ganjam Zilla Parishad Chief Development Officer Keerthi Vasan V and Berhampur Sub-Collector Kulkarni Ashutosh C received the award from President of India Droupadi Murmu. Total five Gram Panchayats from Odisha had been selected for the National Panchayat Awards 2023 under various categories. While three Gram Panchayats from Odisha won Deen Dayal Upadhyay Satat Vikas Puraskar, two GPs from Ganjam and Sundagarh districts bagged the awards under Special Category Awards. New Delhi [India], April 16 (ANI): The Ministry of Panchayati Raj will be celebrating National Panchayat Awards Week from April 17 to 21 as part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (AKAM) 2.0 in the run-up to the National Panchayati Raj Day, said an official release. According to the release, the Ministry of Panchayati Raj has conceptualized a series of Thematic Conferences for the National Panchayat Awards Week on the theme “Panchayaton ke Sankalpon ki Siddhi ka Utsav” to celebrate this monumental occasion in the right spirit and in line with the AKAM 2.0 directives of adopting a “whole-of-society” and “whole-of-government” approach as well as enhancing the outreach of AKAM 2.0 to touch the lives of every Indian.” At the conference, representatives of high-performing Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) will not only receive their coveted Awards but will also deliberate and discuss their achievements in the presence of other stakeholders that can set examples for others to follow.
