Pineapple drawing step by step Though this is a fairly short tutorial drawing a realistic looking pineapple can be a little bit tricky. Be prepared to put in a little bit of time and effort if you want to get a nice looking drawing. Step 1 – Pineapple Basic Shape Sketch Pineapple shape sketch Start the pineapple drawing with a very simple construction line sketch to help define its shape. In this case the two major parts are the pineapple itself and the crown of leaves at the top. Begin the construction line drawing by making a straight vertical line to help you insure that both halves of the pineapple are of relatively even width. Draw the bottom portion similar to an oval with a flattened top and bottom. You can draw the leaves as a very rough sketch to just give yourself an idea of their overall shape and size. Step 2 – Basic Line Drawing Pineapple basic line drawing Based on the sketch in the previous step draw a sort of “net” over top of the pineapple to help you draw it’s individual little sections. Next draw the outer shapes of each of the leaves. Usually pineapples have shorter leaves towards the bottom with a gradual transition into longer leaves towards the top. The bottom leaves also tend to point more to the sides while top leaves grow more upwards. Take this into account and draw accordingly. Step 3 – Line Drawing Pineapple line drawing Clean u...

8 Simple Steps For a Pineapple Drawing – Arteza.com

Make a Realistic-Looking Pineapple Drawing Fruit has been a subject for artists for ages. I, personally, like drawing fruit for three reasons: it’s always available, it doesn’t move, and it’s fun! I find some interesting fruit at farmer’s markets and even in my grocery store. I can draw a single piece, cut them into multiple pieces, or arrange several varieties together for a more complex still life. By moving my light source, I can get some dramatic effects. Drawing fruit allows me to practice with colors, techniques, and positioning for future works. One of my favorite ways to draw fruit is with the Arteza Step 2 The leaves and body are in segments. I divide these by drawing the lines at an angle based on the pineapple's shape. As I add the leaves to the crown, I’m careful to place them in the direction in which they grow, putting short leaves at the base, closer to the fruit, and the longer ones at the very top. Step 3 The leaves of a pineapple are pretty thick, so I show this by drawing them in different thicknesses, giving them pointed ends. If I look closely, I can see that some leaves twist, so I add some curved lines to make them look more realistic and interesting. I think this pineapple drawing looks like it’s ready for some color! Step 7 To add volume, I add more layers of Sage Green (A192) at the base and underneath each leaf for its shadow. On a real pineapple, the spike sections are more of a rhombus shape, with each segment having four equal sides. I create ...

How to Draw a Pineapple in 5 Steps

In this tutorial, learn how to draw a pineapple realistically in 5 steps. This drawing involves lots of shading and some detail work to achieve a realistic effect. Pineapples are interesting fruits with leaves and a lot of texture. This makes them quite a complex subject to draw. To achieve a realistic drawing, two of most important components are a range in tonal values (bright highlights and deep shadows) and accurate proportions. At the end of this tutorial, I’ve written a supplies guide and I’ve added the reference image that I’ve put into black and white so you can save it and follow along with the drawing! Look at your reference photo and determine where the light is coming from. This will inform where your light and dark values (highlights and shadows) will be. If you’re working from a reference photo when drawing, it helps to edit the photo and put it in black and white. This can help you to determine the value relationships better. As you can see, the light source in this photograph is coming from the right hand side. The fruitlet sections and leaves on the right hand side are reflecting more light, while the left hand side is darker in tone. This is a good image to work from, because there is a lot of contrast, so you can exercise your value drawing muscles. Step 2: Draw your guides The key to accuracy in drawing is having guides and reference points to work from. I drew a box very lightly with a hard pencil (F). The rectangle was just over double in height as it...
