Poshan Pakhwada To Focus On Millets

The Ministry of Women and Child Development is celebrating the 5th Poshan Pakhwada from 20th March to 3rd April 2023 with various activities nationwide. The Pakhwada aims to raise awareness about the importance of nutrition and promote healthy eating habits through Jan Andolan and Jan Bhagidari. Poshan Abhiyaan, launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 8th March 2018, has been instrumental in ensuring people’s participation and bringing the discourse on nutrition to the forefront. Poshan Abhiyan was launched with the aim to improve nutritional outcomes in a holistic manner. Behavioural change at individual and community level is an important component to achieve the desired goals of a Kuposhan-mukt Bharat. Every year, Poshan Pakhwada is celebrated in the month of March for 15 days. Similarly, the month of September is celebrated as Rashtriya Poshan Maah, across the country. The Poshan Maah and Pakhwada celebrated so far have witnessed wide participation and enthusiasm from all States/UTs, frontline functionaries, converging Ministries as well as public at large. Close to 2.96 crore activities were held across the country in the last Poshan Pakhwada 2022. The theme of this year’s Poshan Pakhwada 2023 is "Nutrition for All: Together Towards a Healthy India". With the declaration of 2023 as the International Year of Millets, this year the focus of Poshan Pakhwada will be to popularise ‘Shree Anna’ -- the mother of all grains -- as a valuable asset to address malnutrition. ...

Poshan Pakhwada 2023 launched in Longleng

Longleng, March 22 (MExN): The Department of Social Welfare, Longleng launched Poshan Pakhwada 2023 at Longleng under the theme, millet for nutritional well being, celebration of Swath Balak Spardha and Saksham Anganwadis on March 21 at CDPO Office Longleng. According to a DIPR report, the programme was chaired by S Amos Khing Supervisor, the welcome speech was delivered by L Shamdok Menlei Phom, Supervisor. CDPO Longleng Atsole Khalo launched the Poshan Pakhwada and took the Poshan pledge. The keynote address was delivered by Longhong Phom, district co-ordinator for Poshan Abhiyaan. The programme was attended by Anganwadi Workers and Helpers and the convergence departments under the Longleng district. Poshan Pakhwada launched

BPR/TBL, Mar 20 (DIO) District Administration Bishnupur in association with ICDS Cell Bishnupur today launched Poshan Pakhwada at Panchayat Resource Centre, Mini Secretariat Complex in Bishnupur. The launching ceremony was attended by Deputy Commissioner Bishnupur, Lourembam Bikram; Dr Ksh Umananda Singh, District Nodal Officer, RBSK/RKSK and N Ruparani, CDPO Moirang as presidium members. Speaking on the occasion, Lourembam Bikram highlighted the need for convergence of all line departments to achieve the objectives of the Poshan Pakhwada campaign. The DC also encouraged the ICDS officials and workers to work with full commitment so that the campaign penetrates each and every household in the district. ADC Bishnupur, H Bobby Sharma, ICDS officials, Anganwadi workers and helpers also took part in the function. THOUBAL DC Thoubal, A Subhash Singh today flagged off a rally at DC office Complex Thoubal to mark the beginning of Poshan Pakwada celebration. The celebration was organised by District Administration Thoubal in collaboration with ICDS Cell Thoubal. At the event, A Subhash appealed to the people, especially women, to provide their children with healthy and nutritious food. "Parents should try to avoid junk food for their children as it has no nutritional value", he added.
