As Rahul Gandhi braves cold in a T

• • • As Rahul Gandhi braves cold in a T-shirt, Congress warms up: ‘Yogi doing tapasya’, ‘superhuman’ As Rahul Gandhi braves cold in a T-shirt, Congress warms up: ‘Yogi doing tapasya’, ‘superhuman’ As the Congress leader sticks to Bharat Jodo Yatra attire in bitter cold, Salman Khurshid says: “While we are freezing … he is going out in T-Shirts. He is like a yogi doing his 'tapasya' with focus.” Much like everything else in the Bharat Jodo Yatra, the white T-shirt Rahul Gandhi has sported since Day 1 of the march has attracted scrutiny. While at the beginning of the yatra, the BJP targeted Gandhi for wearing a “Burberry T-shirt worth Rs 41,000”, Gandhi’s sartorial choice was again being discussed on Monday. A Congress spokesperson said that while the MP visited the memorials of great leaders during the day in the bitter cold, BJP leaders had wrapped themselves in blankets. Senior Congress leader Salman Khurshid called Gandhi a “tapasvi (ascetic)” and “superhuman”. “Rahul baba has embarked on Bharat Jodo Yatra, wearing a foreign jersey … foreign T-shirt. Friends, I want to remind him what he had said in Parliament — ‘Bharat is not a nation’. Rahul baba, in which book have you read this? This is that nation for which lakhs of people have sacrificed their heads and coloured the land red. This is that nation where thousands of sisters committed ‘jauhar’ for honour and for the country. But this doesn’t seem like a country to you?” said Shah. 'भारत जोड़ो यात्रा' पर BJP द्वारा फै...

BJP takes dig at Rahul Gandhi over his T

Sep 10, 2022, 10:43AM IST Source: Mirror Now BJP on Friday took a dig at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi by suggesting that he was wearing a T-shirt costing over Rs 41,000 while taking part in the Bharat Jodo Yatra. Taking to Twitter, BJP posted a collage of Rahul’s photos on one side and a white Burberry T-shirt similar to the one he was seen wearing on the other and claimed that it costs rupees 41,257. The saffron party also put out a cryptic caption — “Bharat, dekho!” Congress hit back, saying, “Hey... are you scared? Seeing the crowds gathered in Bharat Jodo Yatra. Talk about the issue... Speak on unemployment and inflation.” It further said, “If we have to discuss clothes, then it will go to Modi-ji’s Rs 10 lakh suit and his Rs 1.5 lakh glasses. Tell me what to do.” Congress leader and its social media in-charge Supriya Shrinate also tweeted, “Dear BJP, It is visible how your senses have been blown off after seeing the mass revolution! How desperately rattled are you!!!” Also, reacting with a swipe at Rahul Gandhi for his criticism that dialogue in the country has stopped under the Modi government, BJP said Congress’s connect with the masses and its own members has broken down, citing its poll losses and exodus of its leaders.

Rahul Gandhi’s Rs 41,000 t

The Congress and BJP on Friday sparred over the latter’s tweet earlier in the day suggesting that the t-shirt Congress MP Rahul Gandhi was wearing on the second day of his ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ costs nearly Rs 41,000. Rahul Gandhi, who is currently in Tamil Nadu as part of the foot march, drew flak from the BJP over his expensive clothing. Posting Rahul’s picture with the Burberry t-shirt along with its cost available online, the BJP hit out at the Congress leader, captioning the image, “Bharat Dekho.” Earlier in the day, Rahul lashed out at the PM Narendra Modi-led Centre at the sidelines of the padyatra. Pointing out that his fight is not against a political party any longer, Rahul said that his fight is now against a system that has taken over all institutions from CBI to ED and I-T. “BJP has taken control of all the institutions of this country. We are not fighting a political party any more. The fight is between the structure of the Indian state and the opposition. This is not an easy fight, this is a difficult fight,” said Rahul. Rahul asserted that through the Padyatra, he is trying to revive the idea of India. Rahul alleged that the BJP has hijacked the conversation between the country and its people, claiming that the citizens have been left with no vo...

Kanhaiya Kumar's Take On Rahul Gandhi Walking In T

New Delhi: Congress leader Kanhaiya Kumar, who has walked with party MP Rahul Gandhi in the pan-India foot march 'Bharat Jodo Yatra' for over 3,000 kms from Tamil Nadu's Kanyakumari, today said that Mr Gandhi is able to walk in Delhi's freezing weather in a half sleeve T-shirt as his body has become "proof" after enduring "attacks of hatred" from the BJP, which he said is especially fond of him. "When you face so many attacks, your body becomes proof," he told NDTV. The message of the yatra is that if you want to be free of price rise and unemployment in the country, then all of us have to live cordially together, he said, adding that they hope we have love in our hearts, and in the country. The grand old party's Bharat Jodo Yatra, led by Rahul Gandhi, entered Delhi early this morning from Haryana's Faridabad amid appeals by the union Health Minister to follow Covid protocols. Rahul Gandhi was seen walking in a half-sleeve white t-shirt, with no winter clothes on. Top party leaders, including former Congress President Sonia Gandhi, General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Jairam Ramesh, Pawan Khera, Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Kumari Selja, and Randeep Surjewala joined in. Actor-politican Kamal Haasan is also expected to join the march in the national capital today, along with families of some freedom fighters. The BJP's initial plan was to ignore the yatra, Kanhaiya Kumar said, "but they couldn't do it when they saw people constantly joining in as this yatra's scope is social,...

The Congress party made a similar allegation about Union Home Minister Amit Shah. What problems do they have with the Bharat Jodo Yatra? They are talking about Rahul Gandhi's T-shirt while they themselves wear sunglasses of Rs 2.5 lakh and the muffler of Rs 80,000. The price of the muffler which the home minister wears is Rs 80,000," Gehlot told reporters in Churu. "They (BJP) are doing politics on T-shirts," he added. Gehlot said the public response to the yatra was extraordinary and the BJP leaders were perturbed. "Prime minister, home minister, and other leaders are leaving their work and attacking Rahul Gandhi," he said. Just days after the launch of the Bharat Jodo Yatra, the BJP took a potshot at the Congress party by posting a photo of Rahul Gandhi during the march, where he is reportedly wearing a Burberry t-shirt which costs over Rs 41,000.
