The Untold Story of the Legend Sri Ramoji Rao Cherukuri Ramoji Rao was born on 16th November 1936 to Shri Cherukuri Venkata Subamma and Cherukuri Venkata Subbaiah in the regions of Pedaparupudi village in Krishna District, Andhrapradesh. He shared his amazing childhood with his two sisters Ranganayakamma and Rajyalakshmi. He belongs to the family of a proud farmer and hence gained the knowledge of agriculture from the deep roots of his family and village. During his childhood, he was very accentuated to learn new things, do something creative and work for the welfare of farmers. The first glimpse of this famous personality is so pleasant and calm in white safari and white shoes, simple and sophisticated personality. After his education in literature, he became a successful Businessman and media entrepreneur and got married to Rama Devi. Tollywood confidential: inside the world's biggest film city

I t is rush hour on Monday morning in Hyderabad, but the city’s usual deafening soundtrack of revving engines and blaring horns is absent. The only noise comes from a woman gently sweeping the veranda of one of the large, pastel-coloured mansions nearby. The silence is even more disconcerting when you see the airport near the end of the street, and, just beyond that, a railway station. New York’s Statue of Liberty is a short walk away, as is the splendour of the ancient city of Mahishmati. In fact, Mahishmati is the first place here where I encounter any real noise – the blue special effects screens around the fibreglass throne area are rather flimsy, and a buzz from power tools carries from the adjoining parking lot, where workers are building a pirate ship. We are in Ramoji Film City, the largest film studio in the world and the beating heart of Tollywood, India’s Telugu-language film industry. And although Ramoji is technically part of Hyderabad, in reality – with its (real) hotels, workshops, soundstages, gardens, post office, banks and restaurants – it is a metropolis in and of itself. Jyoti Bansal, Practising Company Secretary and Media Law expert, says that Ramoji contributes a lot to Indian tourism with as many as 1.5 million tourists reportedly visiting the city every year. “Tourism sector linked to the media plays a vital role in this. This place is good for international filmmakers especially from Hollywood who need everything at one place without any hassle,” says Bansal.
