Rishikonda beach isn't located close to the heart of the city instead situated at around 8 km from the Vizag city. It is a popular beach of Vizag that attracts loads of tourists and locals. We visited the beach on a weekend evening in Aug’22, when the beach was over-crowded. The parking lot was full and hence we had to resort to road-side parking. The sea here is relatively calm with tidy waves, offering people to bath, enjoy water sport activities etc. The beach also offers nice scenic beauty. However, the beach area seems to be overly commercialsed. The entry road from main road to the beach has full of shops, vehicles were parked haphazardly, making it difficult for the people to walk. The beach was full of hawkers too. Despite nice scenic beauty, over-crowing may deter a peaceful family time in beach. We visited the beach on a National Holiday, Dussehera . The beach was crowded to the ever inch of it and the parking was full of Vehicles. I had park on a desserted lane next to Parking area were the google maps guided us instead of actual parking. The Beach was clean and well maintained with some lifeguards actively managing it. Rushikonda Beach has had a lot of erosion over the last year and has declined in quality. For a room you would have to book a room at either the Haritha AP Tourism resort up on the hill overlooking the beach or at Sai Priya resorts just down the beach. Day 2:We started as early as 5am in the morning from our hotel and headed straight to another beach known as the Rushikonda beach which was some 10kms from our hotel. It was such a beautiful beach, surrounded by natural rocks and green plants. It has crystal clear waters, less crowded and was quite clean as compared to the city beach (Rama Krishna beach). Such a pleasant weather and feeling the morning fresh breeze, spent sometime relaxing on the rocks and enjoying the fierce sea waves. Rushikonda beach is known for its water sports activities like kayaking, speed boating and scuba diving. Though scuba diving was not available that day, so we tried speed boating on a motorboat. It was a nice first time experience. We missed out the kayaking due to time constraints as we wanted to cover other places as well. Wish we had more time to visit this beach again. We enjoyed street side maggi on the beach (there were quite a lot of maggi stalls out there, reason being the locals make the maggi mixing the Andhra spices), which was quite spicy and lip smacking, one which you will always remember. Tips For Visiting Rishikonda Beach1. Since the ATMs that are located near the beach do not work most of the times, carry enough cash with you.2. Try not to visit after 8:00 PM since all the shops close down and the visitors retreat, leaving the beach deserted.3.
