By India Today Entertainment Desk: MTV Roadies 19 - Karm Ya Kaan witnessed a new era in the Delhi auditions this weekend. The youth adventure reality show saw two special contestants in the latest audition episode. Taking a more progressive step to break stereotypes, MTV Roadies included a transwoman and a hearing and speech-impaired person as their contestants for this season. WHO IS NEERJA PUNIA? Transwoman, Neerja Punia, contested for the new season of Roadies. This was the first time that the show broke societal barriers and welcomed someone across genders. Neerja Punia is a runway model who is in her early twenties. The model hails from Haryana. She shared her views and narrated her inspiring journey. She transformed herself irrespective of facing severe traumatic prejudices. Her father, who never supported her, seemed to take an interest in her life after choosing to audition for Roadies 19. She said, “We are not on talking terms since I identified myself as a woman. Irrespective of that, he came to drop me off at the airport. It seemed like a start to me.” Neerja paved her way through all the audition rounds which happened offline. She recalled, “My father is a person who knows all the court procedures well. But I still travelled back and forth to court 10-12 times for all the legal proceedings.
