Adipurush has received negative reactions since the teaser of Prabhas’ ambitious project was released. The magnum opus by Om Raut pulled massive criticism for poor VFX and the wrong representation of deities. Immediately after the teaser launch, people flooded the internet trolling Saif Ali Khan as he didn’t match the look of Ravan. For the unversed first look poster and teaser were launched during Navratri festivities in Ayodhya, the sacred land of Lord Rama. Netizens were quick to understand Ravan from Adipurush looked like someone from the Mughal era. People even drew similarities with Ranveer Singh’s Padmaavat character Alauddin Khilji. Film director Om Raut defends Ravan’s look stating he is a demon as depicted in modern times. Om Raut said, “When we saw that, it had a lot of modern technology. One arrow comes, 10 come out of it, then 100 come out of it. We had never seen all of this. This was very new for all of us. We didn’t know about it. As reported earlier, Adipurush is a mythological film in which Prabhas will be playing the role of Lord Ram. Today (September 3), the team of Adipurush released a new poster revealing Saif Ali Khan's character name, Lankesh. Director Om Raut shared the latest poster on Twitter and wrote, "7000 years ago existed the world's most intelligent demon! #Adipurush (sic)."
