SAIL Chairman, Directors resume office after testing negative for COVID
New Delhi: (SAIL News) SAIL Chairman Anil Kumar Chaudhary has resumed office after testing negative for COVID-19, an official source has confirmed. Chaudhary had been tested positive for Coronavirus in the second week of June. Later, he had gone into a three-week institutional quarantine. The good news is that no fresh case has been reported at the SAIL headquarters after June 20, the official confirmed. Besides Chairman, all the Directors, except Director (Finance) have resumed office. Meanwhile, an official spokesperson for SAIL said that all due precautions are still being observed. Meetings through video-conferencing are being preferred instead of physical ones. The office is working with bare minimum staff. Thermal screening devices have been replaced with automatic body screening devices, which have been installed at all entry gates. Contact-less services are being offered for operating lifts, marking attendance, serving water, among others. A Corona Response Team (CRT) has also been constituted in the SAIL headquarters. The team comprises in-house doctors, executives and specialists from hospitals to facilitate employees in case of need. The team is functioning under the direct supervision of the SAIL Chairman. Also, the company has tied up with Apollo Hospitals to provide healthcare services to its employees and their families amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
