Centuries old jungle outside village Maksudra district Ludhiana of Punjab, India was known as Dhakki. Sant Baba Darshan Singh Ji Khalsa consecrated Dhakki by mediation there for long time in 1986-87. The fragrance of Baba ji's Meditation, recitation of naam and spiritual gatherings started spreading all around. Consequently thousands of devotees started coming to the holy Dhakki to have glimpse of Baba ji. Keeping in view the keen wishes of these devotees Baba ji started a campaign of disseminating the message of Gurmat and initiating several tasks of social and human welfare. Now this place is known as Tapoban Dhakki Sahib. Baba ji preaches the oneness of all religions, adherence to one's own religion by the devotees, recitation of Namm, Sharing of food, keeping away from cast system and superstitions, renouncing alcohol and drugs, protecting the environment, respecting the elders & fostering universal brotherhood & world peace.

On the 31 st anniversary of the passing of Sant Darshan Singh Ji Maharaj, Sant Rajinder Singh Ji Maharaj presided over an online remembrance program attended by tens of thousands around the world. To begin the program, Mata Rita Ji sang a hymn from the scriptures that spoke of the soul’s yearning to meet God. The spiritual Master said that while Sant Darshan Singh Ji may not be with us physically, he has not left us. He is with us today, just as he was over three decades ago, guiding us toward our spiritual goal. He brought light where there was once darkness, and taught countless souls how to experience and love God. He taught us the most important aspect of life: to love God and to love God’s creation. He wanted us to develop the qualities of selfless service and kindness so that we may bring heaven down on earth. The centennial birthday of gracious spiritual Master Sant Darshan Singh Ji Maharaj was celebrated at Darshan Academy, Kalka with a special program, “Rounak-e-Darshan”. The in-school programme started with lamp lighting, welcome of the chief guests and prayer presented by the teachers. Students of Grades 7 and 8 presented a Mushaira. Certificates were passed to students and teachers, Ms Shakuntala and Ms Seema were awarded the Nation Builder Award. The headmistress and guests released 100 balloons and sweets were distributed among the students and parents. The students’ poem and slogan writing and poster making exhibits were displayed in a prominent area of the school. The program ended with the tree plantation done by the headmistress and guests. Early Childhood: A Latent Spiritual Spark Pujya Maharaj Ji was born to a modest and extremely pious (सात्विक) Brahmin (Pandey) family and was named Aniruddh Kumar Pandey. He was born in Akhri Village, Sarsol Block, Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. His grandfather was a Sanyaasi (सन्यासी) and the overall household environment was deeply devotional, utmost pure and serene. His father Shri Shambu Pandey was a devotional person and accepted Sanyaas (सन्यास) in later years. His mother Shrimati Rama Devi was very pious and had great respect for all saints. Both were regularly engaged in Sant-Seva (संत सेवा) and various devotional services. His elder brother enhanced the spiritual aura of the family by reciting verses from Shrimad Bhagvatam (श्रीमद् भागवतम्) which the entire family would listen to and cherish. The holy household environment intensified the latent spiritual spark concealed within him. Given this devotional family background, Maharaj Ji began reciting various prayers (चालीसा) at a very young age. When he was in class 5th, he started reading Gita Press Publication, Shri SukhSagar. At this tender age, he began to question the purpose of life. He was moved by the thought whether the love of parents is everlasting and if it is not, then why to engage in the happiness which is temporary? The world-renowned, distinguished scientist and spiritual Master Sant Rajinder Singh Ji Maharaj established Darshan Education Foundation. He named the schools “Darshan Academy” after the great spiritual Master Sant Darshan Singh Ji Maharaj (1921-1989), whose life was devoted to service, love for all, nonviolence, truthfulness, humility, compassion, peace, and human unity.
