ANI Cannes [France], May 19 Haryanvi dancer and ‘Bigg Boss 10’ fame Sapna Choudhary, on Friday, made her Cannes debut. Sapna hit the red carpet wearing a pink stone-embedded Indo-western ensemble. For the glam, she opted for glowy make-up and tied her hair in a tight bun. While posing on the red carpet, she greeted the shutterbugs with "namaste" gesture. Sharing pictures of her red carpet look, Sapna took to Instagram and wrote, "Dreams really do come true. It's been a long journey full of sweat, sacrifice, and determination, but it's all worth it. Rumours are a part and parcel of showbiz and many actors have learnt to take things in their stride. But when the rumours get nasty, it can be really disturbing for anyone. Recently there was a death hoax; some reports online said dancer and actress Soon Sapna's family members started getting calls from all over. She says, "It was very upsetting for my family. They didn't know how to deal with it. In this profession, one always encounters all kinds of rumours but something like this was bizarre. I wonder how anybody can spread something like this because you are not just affecting the person concerned, but also his/her family. Imagine what a parent would feel to get a call like that, where people are asking about their daughter passing away!" Sapna also wonders if there was some misunderstanding in this case. She says, "A singer had passed away and maybe somebody confused that singer with me… I don't know. Palwal (Haryana): A case has been registered against Haryanvi singer and dancer Sapna Chaudhary and her family members for their alleged involvement in harassing and demanding dowry from the former Big Boss contestant's sister-in-law. Palwal Police has registered a case against her brother Karan and mother Neelam under various sections including dowry assault. Sapna Chaudhary's sister-in-law filed a complaint at the Women's Police Station in Palwal against the singer-dancer and others, including her mother-in-law Neelam and husband Karan, for demanding a Creta car as dowry. The complainant has alleged that her in-laws assaulted her and demanded dowry and when the demands were not met she was harassed and sexually exploited. The complainant married Sapna's brother Karan, a resident of Najafgarh in Delhi, in 2018. In her complaint, Sapna's sister-in-law alleged that her in-laws began demanding the car after her daughter was born as part of the 'Chuchak' ceremony. However, her father gave them Rs 3 lakh in cash, some gold and silver jewellery, and clothing. She also alleged that after receiving gifts from her family, her in-laws were unhappy and began abusing her again, demanding the car. She also stated that on May 6, 2020, her husband (Karan) assaulted her under the influence of alcohol and had unnatural sex with her.
