Although I made all effort to ensure I am prepared for what the Seychelles has to offer, I inevitably discovered much more whilst on the islands. This includes local culture, shop and food availability, safety and security and of course methods of transportation. Notes and Coins The Central Bank of Seychelles is the only institution mandated to issue legal tender notes and coins denominated in Seychelles Rupees. The Bank is responsible to issue fresh notes and coins, re-issue used currency that are still fit for circulation, withdraw notes and coins that are deemed unfit for use, as well as recall and redeem notes and coins that are no longer legal tender. The Seychelles Rupee is divided into 100 cents. At present, the Seychelles currency constitutes of four note denominations (SCR500, SCR100, SCR50 and SCR25) and seven coin denominations (SCR10, SCR5, SCR1, 25 cents, 10 cents, 5 cents and 1 cent).
