The Sky logo, this must be included somewhere in your design (colour optional) Entry number 1 Entry number one comes from Matthew Betts of London. He says; "The team is called Sky, so the sky blue colour seemed obvious. My dad has a Campagnolo jersey with a white stripe across the chest which I really like, so I basically copied this. The stripes around the edges of the shirt are meant to give it a bit of a modern feel and mimic the Sky+ HD shirt." "I feel the smaller logos look clas...

Kentucky Basketball

LEXINGTON, Ky. –The Kentucky basketball program has retired 43 jerseys in program history, but unlike in Major League Baseball the numbers on those retired jerseys remain eligible for use. So we’re having a little fun with the never-ending debate about the best players in program history by looking at the best player to wear each jersey number. (Note: Historical data about jersey numbers is far from complete. Numbers for some of the earliest players, like Basil Hayden, who had his jersey retired, are not available at all. Others wore multiple numbers in their UK career. But we’re using the MORE: MORE: 0 – De’Aaron Fox: All-SEC selection led UK to the Elite Eight in his one season on campus before being selected No. 5 overall in the NBA draft. Beats current Wildcat Quade Green (and New York Knicks forward Enes Kanter, who was ruled ineligible while at UK) for best No. 0. 00 – Tony Delk: Ranks fifth on UK’s career scoring list (1,890 points) and holds the program record for career 3-pointers (283). Won a national championship in 1996. 1 – Darius Miller: The only player in Kentucky history to win Mr. Kentucky Basketball, a state high school title and a national championship at UK finished his career with the UKrecord for games played (152). Miller edges out first-round draft picks James Young, Devin Booker and Skal Labisseire as the best No. 1 for the Wildcats. 2 – Aaron Harrison: Hit three of the biggest shots in program history with game-winners in the final minute of three...

Football jersey numbers: Everything you need to know

Football jersey numbers or Squad numbers are used in association football to identify and distinguish players that are on the field. Numbers helped to indicate the position of the players in the starting xi. The starting players generally wore numbers 1–11. Although these numbers often bear little or no significance in the modern game other than the players’ favourite numbers and the numbers available. However, numbers 1–11 are still the most popular on the football field. To clarify, defenders are most likely to wear the lower numbers like two, three, four etc. Meanwhile, the higher numbers such as seven, nine and 10 are reserved for star forwards, attacking midfielders and playmakers. However, the first choice goalkeeper of a team usually wears the number one on its back. Traditional roles of the Football jersey numbers (1-11) Image – The first choice goalkeeper of a team usually wears the number one jersey. Moreover, the number one jersey has never been a part of the outfield. Ex-Real Madrid and Spain goalkeeper Iker Casillas have famously worn the number, as well as the likes of Oliver Kahn, Gianluigi Buffon and Manuel Neuer. Image – Centre-backs typically wear the No.5 shirt, with some notable examples including the ex-Barcelona captain and one-club man Carles Puyol, Fabio Cannavaro and Franz Beckenbauer. Zinedine Zidane, a playmaking central midfielder, also wore the famous no.5 shirt during his time at Real Madrid. Jersey Number 6 Image – The No.7 shirt is generally...

Pro kits through time: Team Sky / Ineos Grenadiers

The British team hit the road with a black-and-blue kit that would build a strong identity over the best part of the following decade. The simple and uncluttered design has a largely black torso with one bright blue panel on the chest-baring the logo of Sky in white. The back, however, is where you find what will become something of a signature, not just for the kit, but the team as a whole: the thin blue strip running down the middle. This is taken from the blue racing line on the velodrome and used as a sort of visual metaphor for – amongst other things – the line between right and wrong. Cycling was still between doping scandals and the team entered the sport promising to win clean, but the navigation of that line would soon come under intense scrutiny. The other standout feature of the kit is the three white stripes down the arms and legs: the unmistakable mark of Adidas. The German sportswear giant had previously made the pink kits for the Telekom/T-Mobile team but otherwise hadn’t done much in cycling. That makes this kit, and by extension, the team, feel a little like outliers in the pro peloton. • Supplier: Adidas • Notable wins in the kit:Stage 1 Giro d'Italia, Omloop Het Nieuwsblad • Verdict: A true tone-setter and the Adidas stripes just add to the retro vibe 2011 There’s scarcely enough of a difference for us to classify this as a new kit, but the eagle-eyed among you will have noticed a reduction in the blue trim on the collar, and the secondary-sponsor logos ...

N.J. air quality remains very bad, latest map says. Here’s what those color

• Green zone: Good. “The AQI value for your community is between 0 and 50. Air quality is satisfactory and poses little or no health risk,” according to the EPA. • Yellow zone: Moderate. “The AQI is between 51 and 100. Air quality is acceptable; however, pollution in this range may pose a moderate health concern for a very small number of individuals. People who are unusually sensitive to ozone or particle pollution may experience respiratory symptoms.” • Orange zone: Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups. “When AQI values are between 101 and 150, members of sensitive groups may experience health effects, but the general public is unlikely to be affected.” The EPA says ozone pollution at this level poses a greater risk for “people with lung disease, children, older adults, and people who are active outdoors,” and particle pollution at this level poses a greater risk to “people with heart or lung disease, older adults, and children.” • Red zone: Unhealthy. “Everyone may begin to experience health effects when AQI values are between 151 and 200. Members of sensitive groups may experience more serious health effects.” • Purple zone: Very Unhealthy. “AQI values between 201 and 300 trigger a health alert, meaning everyone may experience more serious health effects.” • Maroon zone: Hazardous. “AQI values over 300 trigger health warnings of emergency conditions. The entire population is even more likely to be affected by serious health effects.” Use of and/or registration on any portion...

Chicago Sky secure jersey sponsor

Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) side Chicago Sky have announced a multi-year jersey sponsorship deal with Magellan Corporation. The Sky have had a partnership in place with Magellan, a Deerfield-based steel distributor, since 2014, but this is the basketball team’s first individual jersey sponsorship deal. As part of the agreement, the Magellan logo will feature on the shoulder of the team’s official playing shirts. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, but Sky’s chief executive, Adam Fox, revealed it is the biggest financial commitment from a sponsor in the team’s ten-year history. Previously, the Sky only had a ‘Legacy Partner’ programme under which sponsors committed to paying US$5,000 a year for five years in exchange for various marketing opportunities. Under the agreement, Magellan's logo will appear on the backdrop during news conferences, and there will be in-arena promotions for some of the charitable groups that Magellan supports. The Magellan logo will appear on the Sky’s jerseys alongside the Boost Mobile logo, which will remain below the number on the front of their shirts under terms of a league-wide jersey sponsorship deal signed with the prepaid wireless service provider in 2011. Bob Arthur, the president of Magellan Corporation, said: “Our ongoing partnership with the Chicago Sky has yielded an excellent return on investment and, just as importantly, has provided us with the opportunity to promote some of the Chicagoland charitable...
