Technical University, which had come in existence just after 2 years of establishment of UPTU, because when the group of students, while studying for the semester examinations were guideless both from teachers as well as from the market as no textbook (as per the Syllabus) was available of any publication. Inspired by this shortcoming, dedication and determination of the group of MBA students of IEM and MLRSM, established a publishing house titled ‘Thakur Publishers’ at Lucknow, because of the University office here, on November 2, 2002, and the aggrieved students generously contributed the collection of their study material for publishing it in form of studynotes cum textbook named ‘Hand book’ for the betterment of the future students of U.P Technical University. Caste and Social Change in India on JSTOR

Caste, the rural community, and the joint family have contributed to social and cultural solidarity in India, where differences of race and culture were likely to provoke perpetual conflict. Although they make up an interwoven compact and solid structure they are plastic, bending to economic forces. Through the caste system the aboriginal tribes have been gradually absorbed into Hindu social organization. As peasants, artisans, and traders rise in the economic scale, they rise also in caste, not as individuals but as groups. Almost unceasing are the processes of differentiation and fusion of castes and subcastes, especially in the lower rungs of the Hindu social ladder. With the growth of cities and of industrial development caste has abandoned many of its restrictions and has demonstrated its adaptability to become the guild or trade-union in the new system of industry. Management experts have tried to predict the shape of organizational structure in advanced countries. The present author aims at contemplating the future shape of organizational structure in Indian business organizations. In doing so, the author is not thinking to suggest as to which organizational structure is the most suitable. The purpose is not prescriptive, but descriptive and analytical. More specifically, the following questions are discussed: What are the views of experts regarding the various factors influencing the organizational structure? Can we develop a general model of organizational structure for all types of business organizations in India? What are the internal and external environmental variables influencing the organizational structure of Indian business concerns?
