Mumbai, Jul 24 (PTI) Music composer G V Prakash Kumar on Sunday said he has finished recording three songs for the Hindi remake of the National Award winning Tamil hit “Soorarai Pottru”, starring Akshay Kumar. Directed by Sudha Kongara, the 2020 film was headlined by Suriya. The Hindi remake, also helmed by Kongara, will see Kumar take up the role originally played by Suriya. “Soorarai Pottru” recently bagged five National Awards, including best feature film, best actor for Suriya, best actress for Aparna Balamurali, best screenplay (Kongara and Shalini Ushadevi) and best background score for Prakash Kumar. The composer gave an insight into the soundtrack and background score of the upcoming movie to fans on social media. “Finished recording three songs for #sooraraipottru Hindi remake. Will be a completely fresh album with new tunes and songs. And new bgscore … super charged about it (sic),” he wrote on Twitter. “Soorarai Pottru” revolved around Nedumaaran Rajangam or ‘Maara’, played by Suriya, who sets out to make the common man fly and in the process takes on the world’s most capital intensive industry with the help of his family, friends and sheer will power. Actor Akshay Kumar has shared the official release date of the Hindi remake of the Tamil movie Soorarai Pottru. The movie is scheduled to release on September 1 this year. The film remains untitled and is being referred to as Production No 27. The Khiladi actor will star in the movie along with Radhika Madan and Paresh Rawal in key roles. Now, it has been confirmed that Akshay Kumar will headline the cast in the remake alongside actress Radhika Madan. The shoot of the film has begun, the actor revealed in a new video.
