Speaking on the occasion, Member of Parliament Rakesh Singh said this is a happy moment for women as the State Government has decided to close all ahatas, places having facility to drink alcohol. He said if someone drinks alcohol in family, then the whole family gets spoiled and children are also affected. Likewise, disputes also occur in families. Now with Government’s new move, there will be no place to drink alcohol. Singh said the Government has always been sensitive and concerned towards every section of the society. He said it is also a fact that the State Government will have to bear huge revenue loss by banning Ahatas in the State. Without caring about it, the Chief Minister has amended the liquor policy to curb liquor intake. It will also improve standard of living of common man. Rajya Sabha MP Sumitra Balmiki, City President Prabhat Sahu and other leaders also addressed the programme. They said the Chief Minister has taken historic decision in the new liquor policy to give great relief to public. While on one hand all the premises for drinking alcohol will be closed, on the other driving license of person driving after alcohol intake will also be repealed. It will curb road accidents occur due to drink and drive. They thanked the Chief Minister for the move.
