Berilah aku dari sisi-Mu keturunan yang baik) maksudnya anak yang saleh (sesungguhnya Engkau Maha Mendengar) dan mengabulkan (doa.") permohonan. Ketika melihat karunia yang diberikan kepada Maryam, Zakariyyâ menghadapkan diri kepada Allah seraya memohon agar dikaruniai anak, atas karunia dan kekuasaan-Nya.
