Hotter days are incoming for Delhi NCR residents after light rains this week. As per the latest forecast by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Delhi is likely to witness clear skies with dry weather over the next few days. As per the latest weather update, the primary weather station of Delhi at Safdarjung recorded a minimum of 27.3 degrees Celsius on Friday, which is normal for this time of the year. IMD expects the maximum temperature to likely settle around 41 degrees Celsius. Monsoon hit mainland India on Thursday as the onset over Kerala was declared by the IMD declaring a week after the usual date of June 1. A delay of 4 days had been predicted earlier but the monsoon was further delayed by the Arabian Sea cyclone. Monsoon winds reach Delhi around June 27 normally. (Inputs from PTI)

Noida: The maximum temperature in Noida on Thursday rose to 40.4 degrees Celsius from Wednesday’s 39 degrees. The minimum, too, rose to 26.3 degrees from Wednesday’s 25.7 degrees. No Similarly, Ghaziabad recorded a maximum temperature of 39.5 degrees against Wednesday’s 38.1 degrees and a minimum temperature of 26.7 degrees. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted hot and dry days in the city for the next few days. Kuldeep Srivastava, a scientist at IMD Delhi, said, the temperature is likely to increase across “Delhi-NCR enjoyed very good weather conditions in May and the initial days in June. These weather conditions have been attributed to the back-to-back western disturbances and the induced circulations that resulted in rain over these areas. Now, over the next few days, a few clouds may be seen with a very bleak possibility of isolated rains in Delhi and Noida,” it said. Hot and humid weather conditions may lead to discomfort for people. IMD advises people to avoid heat exposure and wear lightweight, light-coloured, and loose cotton clothes. In Delhi, the maximum temperature on Thursday rose to 39.9 degrees Celsius, which was 1.5 degrees higher than Wednesday’s temperature. IMD has predicted that the day temperature is likely to hover around 41-42 degrees Celsius for the next seven days. There is a possibility of very light rain or drizzle at isolated places on Friday night.
