The Glory season 2 release date

The Glory spoilers follow. If you've watched season one of The Glory, you probably got to episode eight and wondered where the revenge went. After all, we've been waiting nearly as long as Moon Dong-eun (Song Hye-kyo) for the ex-bullying victim to unleash her long-threatened hell on her former tormentors. Then we got to the final episode and… well, not a lot of vengeance yet. At this rate, the revenge will have been served cold, then risen back to room temperature again, possibly leading to future gastric distress. That's revenge for you. Don't worry, though, it's a two-parter! First things first: when can we expect it? The Glory season 2 release date: When is The Glory part 2 on? The images they published in the tweet don't reveal a lot, but they do show at least one thing we were hoping for: a bloodied Jae-jun. The other scenes are more enigmatic: Yeon-jin is on the phone in the snow wearing a fetching pink coat; Dong-eun is looking stern and troubled (when is she not, frankly?); and interestingly, her love interest and Go teacher Yeo-jeong is sitting down to a game with Yeon-jin's master-of-the-universe husband Jung Sung-il. This suggests Yeo-jeong is finally going to be involved directly in Dong-eun's plan, rather than hanging around on the sidelines looking lovesick and being medically noble. The Glory part 2 ending explains Dong

The Glory concluded its epic, 16-episode tale of revenge on Friday when Netflix dropped the second half of the Korean drama. The story follows Moon Dong-eun (Song Hye-kyo) as she sets into motion an elaborate plan to enact revenge against the five classmates who severely bullied her as a teenager. It’s a simple plot, elevated by devastating performances, masterful writing, stunning direction, and epic music. And it’s anchored by a central, driving question: Will Dong-eun succeed in getting her revenge — and should she? The final episodes definitely give a clear answer to those questions, while throwing in some unexpected twists in the process (and even teasing a possible season 2). [ Ed. note: As you might expect, this article contains major spoilers for the gruesome ending of The Glory.] What happened to Park Yeon-jin and the rest of the bullies? Photo: Graphyoda/Netflix At the heart of The Glory is the dynamic between Dong-eun and Park Yeon-jin (Lim Ji-yeon). Yeon-jin has always been Dong-eun’s main target, as she was the ringleader in brutally bullying Dong-eun and others in high school. The voice-overs we hear throughout the series are framed both as Dong-eun’s inner monologue and as letters to Park Yeon-jin. These are not missives that Dong-eun ever intends to send to Yeon-jin — that would give Yeon-jin power over Dong-eun in a way Dong-eun never intends to allow again. Rather, the letters to Yeon-jin are a manifestation of Dong-eun’s hyperfocus on bringing Yeon-jin t...

Is The Glory based on a true story? Exploring the inspiration behind Netflix's latest phenomenon

Penned by ace writer Kim Eun-sook, known for dramas like The Guardian: Lonely and Great God, Mr. Sunshine, and Descendants of the Sun, The Glory features a school-bullying victim who decides to avenge her bullies by taking up a job as a homeroom teacher at the elementary school where the bully’s young child studies. This marks Song Hye-kyo's second collaboration with writer Kim Eun-sook after the 2016 drama She eventually hatches an elaborate plan to get back at the bullies and avenge Park Yeon-jin and her gang. The 16-episode revenge thriller series showcases several edge-of-seat kind of twists and turns in Moon Dong-eun’s life. The revenge-thriller series has been well-received by fans, but many would be surprised to learn that The Glory is inspired by a few real-life incidents. The Glory, her latest project, and her second K-drama with Song Hye-kyo. Kim Eun-sook recently revealed that an honest conversation with her daughter, who is in her sophomore year of high school, inspired her to write The Glory. The ace writer stated that she was always worried that her daughter might receive unnecessary attention in school because of her mother, and she wanted to address that. However, her daughter showed her mature side by revealing “Mom, you're not Kim Eun Sook like the past”. What planted the seeds of the drama in her mind was when her daughter asked the rhetorical question - “Mom, would you be more heartbroken if I beat someone to death or if I got beat to death by someone e...

‘The Glory’ Ending: Could There Be a Second Season?

Photo: MH/Graphyoda/Netflix There was a time not so long ago when Korean dramas rarely went past one season. Then U.S. streamers like Netflix Squid Game, Hellbound, and Sweet Home have had their stories extended past the one-and-done format previously favored by Korean creators and into planned second seasons. Revenge drama The Glory is Netflix’s latest K-drama success. In the 16 episodes released in season one, protagonist Moon Dong-eun (Song Hye-kyo) summarily wraps up her vengeance against Park Yeon-jin (Lim Ji-yeon) and cronies, leaving virtually no loose ends when it comes to the central revenge plot. However, loose ends abound for Joo Yeo-jeong (Lee Do-hyun), Dong-eun’s plastic-surgeon boyfriend, who is still looking to make his father’s murderer suffer for the torment he’s caused. Yeo-jeong’s unfinished revenge under Dong-eun’s tutelage leaves the narrative door open for The Glory to craft more meticulously executed vengeance. Could a second season happen? Should it? And if it does happen, should it center Joo Yeo-jeong or someone else? Let’s discuss. Wait, isn’t there already a second season of The Glory? No, though the confusion is understandable. In an attempt to take a small step away from the binge model, Netflix is increasingly implementing a strategy of splitting up single seasons into two parts (see also the most recent season of You). The Glory season one consists of 16 episodes split into two parts. “Part Two” is the second half of the first season. First,...
