Triangle (2009)

In Florida, Jess (Melissa George) is a mother that raises her autistic son Tommy (Joshua McIvor) alone. Her friend Greg (Michael Dorman) invites her to sail in his yacht on Saturday morning with his friends Victor (Liam Hemsworth), Downey (Henry Nixon) and wife Sally (Rachel Carpani) that unexpectedly brings her friend Heather (Emma Lung). While sailing, out of the blue the wind stops and they a surprised by a storm. The yacht capsizes, Heather vanishes in the sea and they see the old passenger vessel Aeolus that stops and they climb the embarkation ladder. When they reach the main deck, they can not find any passenger or crew onboard. Jess has the sensation of déjà vu and sooner they learn that there is someone hunting them down. Further, Jess discovers that the only way to save the group is killing them all. A couple of months ago I saw the trailer of "Triangle" and I was looking forward to the release of the DVD. "Triangle" is an intriguing love-or- hate film that follows the style of David Lynch, inclusive with a reference to "Blue Velvet" with the garden water spray nozzle. The story is excellent and the production is detailed with the 1932 riveted ship as it should be. This is the type of story open to interpretation where the viewer shall enjoy and not seek for an ultimate explanation. This is the third film that I see from Christopher Smith and this promising director is improving his work in each film. Melissa George is excellent as usual and the cast has good pe...

What is Meaning of The film Triangle? Explained Ending – Blimey

The mystical thriller “Triangle” was released back in 2009. But even now, after 10 years, watching this film can cause a resonance, dividing those who looked at two groups: those who did not understand anything, and therefore are not impressed. And those who understood, and therefore impressed. Among these, quite warring groups, a third was also concealed. Those who liked the movie, and even managed to catch some sense, but still did not understand it to the end. If you belong to this category, then below you will find an analysis of the most incomprehensible moments in the film, an explanation of the ending and meaning. Go. Brief information “Triangle” was the third work of aspiring director Christopher Smith. Unfortunately, after The Triangle, the director’s filmography remained at an unusually low level. Based on this, we conclude that “Triangle” is his best film. Unfortunately, this fact did not save the picture from a complete failure at the box office – with a budget of $ 12 million, the film collected a little more than half a million. Not happy with the ratings of the audience – 6.9 at IMDb. Critics are almost the same. 75% on Metacritic based on 9 positive reviews and 80% freshness on Rotten Tomatoes. It would seem that all of the above should provide the film with complete oblivion. But the picture was saved by a rather unusual plot. google.com Plot Summary The young girl Jess soothes her crying son, wipes the spilled water from under the paints, collects things,...

spoiler: click to read None of the events are real, except Jess smacking her son, being a bad mother and both dying in the car accident. However when she died, her spirit realized her sins and therefore during the journey of delivering her spirit to the afterlife (taxi ride) she thinks that her past is fixable. Leaves the taxi and cheats death, gets stuck in an in vain attempt for redemption, forever This was a lot of fun. Some friends out on boat run into bad weather that wrecks their ship. They climb aboard a big cruise ship but something feels funny? Soon the friends start to die one at a time and claim one of their own is doing the killing? It doesn't take long before we figure out what's going on, but the beauty is that there isn't any escape or explanation to it. It probably works best as a mystery, but the horror elements are pretty intense. Rewatched this, and despite being a de facto twist-centered movie, it feels even better the second time around - it's really fun to follow all the small details that point towards the mystery. Easily one of the more underrated horrors of the noughties: thematically consistent, smart, visually engaging, detailed and at times quite surreal. It's really best not to read anything about it going in, but if you, like me, think that time and space distortions are some of the most effective tropes in horror, this film is up there with the best of them (looking at you Ah, the old puzzler: how does one review a movie in which mentioning w...

Triangle's Overlapping Timelines Finally Explained

Their pleasant excursion is cut short when the sailboat runs into a storm and is capsized, with Heather presumed dead. The upturned vessel then comes across a cruise ship names Aeolus, which appears abandoned except for a masked killer on board — which turns out to be another Jess. Our protagonist ultimately finds herself compelled to repeat the same actions over and over again, killing those on board to try and escape her time loop. There have been numerous examinations of "Triangle," including interpretations of the events from The film only shows us one cycle of a time loop that consists of two recurring trips to the Aeolus for Jess. Every version of the Jess we see is at a different point in her continuous rotation, and we will explain the complete pattern by following one version for an entire loop, including the sequences the movie does not explicitly lay out. The first thing to know is that every time a new version of Jess boards the Aeolus, there are already two other versions of her on board, in various stages of their journey. The second thing to note is that at the end of the movie, when Jess gets back on the sailboat, she does not lose her memory on the way, but is aware of the time loop when she boards the Aeolus again. This means there are two types of Jess who get on the cruise ship: Jess "Type One," who has no memory of past events, and Jess "Type Two," who is fully aware but initially pretends not to know what is going on. It is only after Jess is finally ...
