And while our site doesn’t feature every company or financial product available on the market, we’re proud that the guidance we offer, the information we provide and the tools we create are objective, independent, straightforward — and free. So how do we make money? Our partners compensate us. This may influence which products we review and write about (and where those products appear on the site), but it in no way affects our recommendations or advice, which are grounded in thousands of hours of research. Our partners cannot pay us to guarantee favorable reviews of their products or services. Pretty much every airline these days offers an app where passengers can search for flights, check-in, select seats and more. While Turkish Airlines is no exception, don’t expect its app to be your best resource — on a recent series of flights I took on the airline this summer, app functionality was strained at best. On that note, I was impressed with the options available for in-flight meals on Turkish Airlines international flights. No matter your dietary restrictions, there’s likely to be a meal option for you on most long-haul trips (not on domestic flights, though, so bring your own snacks if you have allergies or restrictions). Choose from vegan, gluten-free, diabetic, Hindu, Kosher and more. Some of the meal menus may overlap at times (gluten-free and vegan, fo...

Turkish Airlines TK

Pros: The planes took off and landed smoothly and without crashing Cons: The connection time allowed in Istanbul was too short. Anything less than 2.5 hrs is too short. Covid social distancing was a joke in Istanbul and the business class boarded with everyone else - the airline run out of meals in business class!!! I will not fly with TK again. Pros: The planes took off and landed smoothly Cons: Short connection time - way too short for this size airport. Never book a transfer in Istanbul with less than 2.5 hrs connection time. The airport adherence to covid social distancing rules was a joke. I think it was the worst experience and provoked a lot of stress. The boarding was also chaotic and business class did not board separately. The Meals on board were poor - fish or lamb (smelly) they quickly run out of pasta in business class. This whole experience was bad. Pros: NA Cons: I was not allowed to fly because the reason was “tourist” even though the website said that Croatia was open to tourists. I was not given a straight answer as to what is going on the whole day. The assistants at the Turkish ticket counter were very friendly but the experience was so stressful as I was stuck at the airport and there are no ATM’s so I could not pay for a visa to get a hotel to stay in Turkey for the night. I finally managed to pay online, but really just a horrible experience all around. Pros: Not much I liked at all for the rave I’ve been hearing. Cons: Crew needs attitude ad...
