The first time many Ugandans heard about filmmaker Loukman Ali’s The Girl in the Yellow Jumper was in 2019. Then he released a trailer of the long-awaited film. It had been in production for more than a year and Ali had teased the public with pictures of the possible cast. Actors Rehema Nanfuka, Gladys Oyenbot, Michael Wawuyo Jr, and Michael Wawuyo Sr had been confirmed but the producers were bargaining to get the services of American-based Ugandan actor Ntare Mbaho Mwine. Mwine is one of the lead actors in popular American drama, The Chi, plus his earlier exploits in 40, Queen of Katwe, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, and Heroes, among others. But this did not happen and the role was later taken up by popular actor and singer Maurice Kirya and a cameo from American actor and producer Morocco Omari from the popular drama, Empire. It was only in December 2019 that the film producer announced plans to have the film premiere in Kampala on April 18, 2020. The producer alongside his team had made strides to market the film in ways most local filmmakers don’t do. For instance, instead of having a few posters for the film, they had erected at least two billboards advertising the film. But as fate would have it, in 2020, because of the Covid-19 pandemic, social life as known to many, came to a standstill and halted Loukman’s plans of having The Girl in the Yellow Jumper screened in theatres in Kampala. With cinemas closed, many filmmakers set their sights on 2021 to exhibit their ...

About Us – Uganda Forever

Anthony Johnson – President Phyllis Johnson – Coordinator Fred Kaddu – Coordinator Father Joseph Wiley – Promoter and Website Manager Fr. Donald Fest- Advisor and Chaplain Message from Fred Kaddu. Growing up it was hard for my mother to pay my tuition at a certain point. Some good people offered to help me in order to get a good education. I was lucky to attain a good education because there are many orphans who drop out of school at an early age. These children don’t drop out of school because of their wish, but because they cannot afford to pay tuition, buy books, pens, pencils and other school materials. It has always bothered me to see this happening to innocent children. I have always prayed that God may use me to bring joy to someone’s life by providing education to him/her the same way someone brought joy to me by paying for my education when my mom was having difficulty. I have always believed that I can change the world if I can change one person’s life. If someone helped me, I can also help someone to reach somewhere and that person will do the same to someone else. Gradually a big change will be seen. I am grateful to Phyllis Johnson, a very brave African American lady who has visited my home Church in Uganda. She has witnessed and testified to the needs of the children. She has taken a lot of photos. Some friends have already made monetary donations to buy books and pay tuition for some students. You and I can change the world by helping the children to achieve...

Unbelievable: Discover How a Second Trump Term could Shift 'Pride' from 'Uganda Forever' to Lady MAGA Madness!

As June begins, Christians hoping for Trump to combat the “Pride” movement should reconsider their expectations. Those who think a second Trump era will uphold conservative values may be falling victim to the “Obama effect,” a phenomenon that sees blind loyalty override pre-existing principles. Christian conservatives must beware of the “Obama effect” when it comes to former President Donald Trump, especially when it comes to hopes of curbing the Pride movement. Like Barack Obama, Trump has been a dynamic figure, and at times, his charisma may have blinded loyal supporters. This was evident in 2016 when Trump allowed Caitlyn Jenner to use a women’s restroom in Trump Tower. However, many were disappointed when he rescinded Obama-era guidance to schools supporting transgender restrooms in 2017. Despite these inconsistencies, Trump’s support base celebrated Pride Month in 2019 and opposed Uganda’s Anti-Homosexuality Act, showing a possible deviation from conservative Christian values. Adding to this divergence was the Respect for Marriage Act, a move supported by 39 House Republicans and 12 GOP senators, which seems to contradict the majority of Trump’s evangelical base’s beliefs. The Republican Party is strongly influenced by “mammon conservatism,” which prioritizes power, money, and material possessions. This has led key figures like Trump, Mike Pence, and Nikki Haley to criticize Governor Ron DeSantis for public disputes with Disney. This support of corporations contribute...
