Ultraviolette To Open Orders Of Much

India’s Ultraviolette has been on a mad dash to get its F77 electric motorcycle to the market in 2022. The TVS-backed company debuted the original concept way back in 2019. During the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, the team laid low but returned with a road test video first thing 2021. It hasn’t squandered its momentum either. By July, 2021, Ultraviolette announced updates to the model’s specifications. One year later, the F77 That wasn’t the only good news. Ultraviolette also updated key details concerning the electric model’s powertrain, chassis, and electronics. The 2019 F77 prototype housed a removable, 18,650-cell power pack. While the designers had to forego swappable battery technology in favor of a fixed unit, the production model's 10.5 kWh battery benefits from 21,700 lithium-ion cells. That nets the F77 the largest electric power unit of any Indian model and results in a 307-kilometer (190-mile) range. Considering the concept only covered 150 kilometers (93-mile) between charges, that’s a mighty impressive improvement. The F77’s upgraded battery pack also hangs inside an enhanced chassis. To increase rigidity (twofold), Ultraviolette engineers added a spine section to span the headstock and the load-supporting motor mount. The new swingarm utilizes a cost-effective manufacturing method while the USD fork and monoshock both offer pre-load adjustability. Completing the reworked chassis, a 320mm rotor at the front and a 230mm rear disc provide ample stopping powe...

Ultraviolette F77

Milind Singh – an automobile design engineer and die-hard motorbike buff, takes stock of the latest electric motorcycle – Ultraviolette F77. After creating a massive hype, and a number of renders and spy shots later, Ultraviolette officially unveiled its first electric motorcycle – the F77. It has always been a question, whether electric vehicles can ever compete with the IC engines in terms of performance, price and range. Usually, electric vehicles lack in terms of range and high-end performance. However, it seems as though Ultraviolette has the answer to all these apprehensions. The recently unveiled Ultraviolette F77 is one of its kind motorcycle. For other electric motorbikes, visit RV400 and RV300, Tork T6X, Emflux One. Does the F77 have the appeal? It sure does. With a design comprising of full faired as well as street style elements, the best of my favourite words, it is a treat to look at. It comes with a fully faired design but unlike any other bike, its headlight is mounted at the front fork instead of mounting along with the fairing. To me, it didn’t look very appealing at first because of its huge fairings and stuff, but the more you look, the more you fall in love with it. Source: The front fork panels give it a rather heavy look but go along pretty well with the rest of the design. The fairings are pretty bold with muscular and aggressive lines. The fairing goes from the front fork, all the way back to the underside of the rider’s seat. It gets a split seat,...

The Ultraviolette F77 is now available for eager customers

With its radical styling and performance that has impressed, the Ultraviolette F77 has become one of the most eagerly awaited electric motorbikes. Now, almost half a decade after the F77 concept model was unveiled, it has begun to be delivered to customers who have pre-ordered. The F77 has come a long way during its development from concept model to final product, but it has always retained its futuristic styling as well as quite considerable performance. Despite its aggressive styling, the Ultraviolette has ergonomics that are more geared towards user comfort. In terms of its performance, the F77 has a similar power output to the 300cc and 400cc combustion models. The standard bike is equipped with a 7.1 kWh battery and a 27 kW (about 37 hp) electric motor. Its range is 206 km on a single charge and it has a top speed of 140 km/h. The Recon and Special versions , however, have 29kW (40 hp) and 30.2 kW (42 hp) motors, respectively. In addition to the engines, the battery in both models has a range of 307 km. There are three versions of the F77, the Standard, Recon and Special, the three models have different mechanical specifications and have different colour schemes. Currently there is no official information if the model will arrive in Europe, but we will keep an eye out for any news.

Ultraviolette F77 review: performance, price, features, running costs

Alot can change in three years and a lot has since we last rode the Ultraviolette F77 in 2019. The start-up from Bengaluru took the pandemic as an opportunity to heavily overhaul the motorcycle, and it now has a battery pack that is more than double in size, a whole new chassis, a more powerful motor and a considerably bigger price tag. With the company finally ready to begin customer deliveries, we got to ride this bike and make sense of where it fits in the market. The original F77 had a 4.3kWh battery split into three removable packs. That number was decent in 2019, but it’s now the mainstay of the scooter market and the company realised that if this bike was to work, it had to have a much bigger battery pack. Switch to 2023, and the top F77 Recon we are riding here has a fixed 10.3kWh battery (7.1Kwh on the base F77). That means that the company can claim a 307km IDC range with a real world range of well over 200km. That’s way better than any other two-wheeled EV in India and it makes the F77 a far more practical prospect. But as with most things in life, there are no silver bullets. Ultraviolette F77 review: battery pack Batteries are heavy and whenyou more than double the capacity, there’s no hiding that mass. The F77 now weighs nearly fifty kilos more than it did in 2019, but Ultraviolette wanted us to start our day by seeing that the F77 is still a sharp and sporty motorcycle, despite all the weight it’s gained. And that’s why we began with a few fast laps around a...

Ultraviolette F77 Recon First Ride Review

It was six years ago that a startup in Bengaluru started work on its vision for an electric performance motorcycle. Two years later, Ultraviolette gave us our first glimpse at the F77, its jet fighter-inspired all-electric motorcycle that at that time looked racy and felt just a few steps away from liftoff. Ultraviolette F77 Recon Design & Features - Supersonic Jet For The Road The team at Ultraviolette consider themselves to be proper bike guys who are a little (in reality, very) obsessed with the deadliest birds in the sky, the jet fighter. This can quite easily be seen in the design of the F77 which has been designed to cut through the air smoothly for maximum efficiency and performance. At the front, the angular headlight looks more like a faceplate out of a transformers movie and its dual-pod lighting config looks rather sharp as do the three LED daytime running lights. The upside-down forks with their aero covers add to the angular front design of the F77 while the front fender looks like it would cut through the air like a hot knife through butter and the 17-inch wheel is shod with newly designed MRF rubber. When viewed from the side, the F77's sports bike and fighter jet inspirations combine to form an elegant yet rather powerful-looking bike. Also, you won't see a nut or a bolt on the bike's body as every panel is press fit like those on the jet fighters that this EV is inspired by. Both from and functionality meld together with the faux fuel tank section hosting ...
