Despite Threats From Allen, Unacademy Opens Learning Centres in Kota

Unacademy on Tuesday launched two offline learning centres in Kota of Rajasthan. Kota is the hub of coaching institutes with lakhs of students preparing for JEE Main, NEET, UPSC, SSC and other entrances residing there to prepare for their exams. Many traditional institutes including Allen are the traditional hubs there. Unacademy, predominantly an ed-tech player, enrolled teachers from Kota-based institutes. The hiring of teachers from Kota-based institutes had not gone down well with Allen. Recently, head of Allen Coaching in a video message had threatened the teachers leaving the institute by stating that it would blacklist them. Talking in Hindi, he said, “ Sharafat ki duniya khatam, jaisi duniya waise hum" which can be roughly translated into “Now, the world of decency is over, we will be as the world is". The company has onboarded over 30 top educators for its Kota Centres. Established Educators including Mohit Bhargava, Parvez Khan, Insaf Ali, Vijay Kumar Tripathi, Ashish Gupta, and more will be part of the Centre’s larger faculty team. Allen Career Institute’s cofounder and director Brajesh Maheshwari said that Allen institute will take action against teachers who leave the company and join other rival edtech platforms. He added that teachers who leave the institute will be blacklisted from working with Allen again. They will not be allowed to join back. Brajesh Maheshwari co-founded Allen Career Institute. 'Sharafat ki Duniya Khatam', Says Allen Chief, Threatens Teachers Leaving Institute

Allen Career Institute’s cofounder and director Brajesh Maheshwari has recently warned its teachers of leaving the institute and moving to the other offline coaching centres by edtech platforms. This comes after Unacademy has announced it will open a coaching centre in Kota and has roped in several teachers from Allen. “Sharafat ki duniya khatam", says Allen chief while threatening the teachers on leaving the institute. Sharing a video statement, Maheshwari has said that Allen institute will take action against teachers who leave the company and join other rival edtech platforms. He added that teachers who leave the institute will be blacklisted from working with Allen again. They will not be allowed to join back. Read | Maheshwari said that teachers are being greedy. “Jo koi jaata hai toh aaj se iss baat ko pakka krle, vo humesa k liye blacklisted at Allen," said Maheshwari. (Any teacher who leaves, will be blacklisted at forever). He added that “Sharafat ki duniya khatam, jaise duniya waise hum." (there is no decency left on earth, we will treat others how they treat us). Allen Career Institute currently has more than 10,000 teachers as per the official website. Founded on April 18, 1988 by Rajesh Maheshwari, it claims to have trained over 25 lakh students since its inception. It offers coaching for engineering entrances, IIT-JEE, JEE Main and medical entrance, NEET. it’s very sad thing that education is become business. After Unacademy Launches In Kota, Allen Announces New Online Arm Named Allen Digital

In business, like in football, the best form of defense could well be offence. Days after ed-tech startup Unacademy launched in Kota and set up an offline coaching center, Allen Career Institute has gone ahead and launched a wholly-owned online subsidiary. Named Allen Digital, the subsidiary will bring Allen’s offerings to the digital space. Allen had earlier “Over the past three decades, Allen has emerged as the top destination for competitive examination preparations,” “The ubiquity of digital will allow us to achieve scale at a faster rate without having to compromise on the quality of teaching,” Maheshwari said. Allen digital plans to go beyond India, but the company didn’t specify which overseas markets it would target. It would offer a blend of digital and offline learning options through Allen Digital, the company said. It’s perhaps no coincidence that Allen’s latest move pits it squarely against Unacademy. Earlier this week, Unacademy co-founder Roman Saini had teased a visit to Kota on his Twitter account. The very next day, Unacademy had set up a glitzy coaching center in the city. Nothing beats a great preparation experience. Really happy sharing this piece of information as it is going to help thousands of aspirants towards fulfilling their dreams. An offline classroom learning experience like never before. Kota, however, happens to be Allen’s headquarters, and it appeared that the company wasn’t particularly thrilled about having the ed-tech upstart set up a p...
