Story Links • • DALLAS – Following a standout junior campaign, University of Houston utility player  Murray was a force for the Cougars in his first season in the Bayou City. The North Carolina native was named Newcomer Position Player of the Year in The American while also picking up an All-Conference First Team nod. As the Cougars starting first baseman, Murray spent most of his time on the first base bag while also serving as the Cougars' most reliable closer. In conference contests, Murray led the league in batting average with a .417 clip and stolen bases at 12 while ranking second in hits (40), RBIs (29) and steal attempts (15).  Murray was one of five players in the American Athletic Conference to earn the award and one of eight individuals from current or future Big 12 Conference schools. The Texas Core Curriculum is a 42 semester credit hour (SCH) core curriculum for all undergraduate students in Texas. All bachelor’s degrees from the University of Houston require completion of the Texas state-mandated 42 hour Core Curriculum. The courses listed here are approved by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board to fulfill basic core requirements for the University of Houston. Students must meet the credit hour requirements for all ten of thecomponent areas. Students should always consult with their academic advisor to determine what courses they should take to satisfy the Texas Core Curriculum and degree requirements of their declared major. Annual Costs Undergraduate Tuition University of Houston tuition is $8,685 per year for in-state residents. This is 14% more expensive than the national average public four year tuition of $7,601. The cost is 50% cheaper than the average Texas tuition of $17,245 for 4 year colleges.
