Earlier, he planted a sapling in the temple premises to mark the occasion. The installation of the idol and Maha Samprokshana festivities were performed in the monring. The temple is spread over 83.42 acres and was opened for darshan from the afternoon. It will also be developed as a pilgrim tourism hub. Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) Agama advisor Dr Vedantam Vishnu Bhattacharyulu said the temple which is dedicated to the Vakulamatha, mother of Lord Venkateswara Swamy, was renovated as per Agama Shastra and the gopuram has been gold plated with 20 kg gold with the support of TTD.

Speaking to the media after inspecting the arrangements at Sri Vakulamata temple on Wednesday, he said it took three years for the temple rejuvenation in 83.42 acres. The TTD is also building a Kalyana Mandapam and a rest house on the premises.He said the temple will open up for devotees from June 23 afternoon. TTD Agama advisor Dr Vedantam Vishnu Bhattacharyulu said as per Skanda, Varaha, and Bhavisyottara Puranas, Sri Vakulamata is believed to be the mother of Sri Venkateswara.Narrating the significance of the temple, he said the temple was developed as per Agama Shastra and the gopuram has been gold-plated with 20 kg gold with the support of the TTD. TTD EO AV Dharma Reddy inspected the arrangements at Sri Vakulamata temple in Patakalva Wednesday. As Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is visiting the temple Thursday, the EO along with other officials personally inspected the arrangements. JEOs Sada Bhargavi, Veerabrahmam, CVSO Narasimha Kishore and others were present. Meanwhile, in connection with Maha Samprokshanam on Thursday, Koil Alwar Tirumanjanam was performed at Sri Vakulamata temple in Patakalva on Wednesday. Tirumala temple Dy EO Lokanatham handed over the jewels to Tirupati JEO Veerabrahmam. The jewels were presented to the presiding deity Vakulamatha through the hands of the Minister Peddireddi Ramachandra Reddy, the main force behind the construction of the shrine fulfilling the long cherished dreams of devotees. The Minister along with his spouse also presented Pattu Vastrams to Vakulamatha. He was received with temple honours by the priests and was led into the shrine.Later speaking to the media, the Minister said, it’s been a year since the temple of Vakulamatha was inaugurated and on the auspicious occasion of the first anniversary, he felt privileged to be a part of this great religious ceremony. Tirupati: It is indeed amazing to see a ruined temple rising from its rubble to a magnificent golden temple. The Vakulamatha temple which was once teeming with devotees and resonating with chanting of devotees went into oblivion for unknown reasons resulting in the temple remaining ruined for over a 100 years with no pujas and devotees visiting it. The quarry owners' indiscriminate mining added more to the sorry state of the dilapidated shrine.
