Tanuj is best known for his role as the hothead cricketer Vayu Raghavan on the Amazon original Inside Edge. He was recently seen in Voot Select’s Illegal. Speaking about his role on Abhay and how he prepared for the character, Tanuj said, “It was an interesting and unique role for me. The duplicity of the character drew me to the part. Abhay as a franchise is known for its interesting villains but something like this has not been shown before. I tried to play the character earnestly and not judge him. There would be a certain maturity that comes along as he becomes full-time captain of the Mumbai Mavericks. Tanuj Virwani, one of the breakout stars of Amazon Prime Video's Inside Edge, is filming a scene on the set of his latest web series for ALTBalaji. Titled Cartel, Tanuj plays a local mafia don. Here he's in a heated confrontation with a particularly retro-looking Jitendra Joshi (most known for his role as beloved police constable Katekar in Sacred Games). Cartel is one of the three shows Virwani has up for release in 2020. The son of actress Rati Agnihotri, Virwani's career found a new lease of life on the web after featuring in a number of forgettable films like Sunny Leone-starrer One Night Stand and Purani Jeans. What a fab year it has been for Tanuj Virwani. With as many as six major releases to his name in a span of just 12 months, he has clearly been the busiest of them all. A journey that started with The Tattoo Murders earlier this year has culminated with Inside Edge 3, with a promise of an even more happening 2022 ahead. What makes is all the more special is that his last two outing a have arrived within a fortnight of each other and won him quite a few accolades. “Well, I won’t deny that I am smiling from ear to ear; I had worked hard for this and now that 2021 is coming to a close, I am happy with all the decisions that I took. None of these were rash decisions. Some were well thought of and some were taken with a leap of faith.
