I have not found any specific reference to the age of each of the Pandavas, like Arjuna and Bheema when they fought the epic Mahabharata battle. It will be also interesting to know the age of Bhishma pitamah during the Mahabharata war as he saw many generations of his own family unfold in front of his own eyes. Their ages were not mentioned in various TV episodes of Mahabharata. I think while calculating years of person , you must be able to calculate the hours in a day , In those days and another point is that their body structure, they fought for year together, the dinosaur Geochelone (Aldabrachelys) sumeirei) which lived for 152 years had a accidental death.I suppose Mahabharata had happened before that so life will be certainly longer. Below I have reproduced the timeline • Yudhishthir - 91 years • Bheem - 90 years • Arjun - 89 years • Nakul & Sahdev - 88 years. INTERESTING FACT: Yudhishthir ruled for 72 years in his 127 years of life! The number in brackets is the time in years from Yudhishthir's birth. • [-16] Karna's Birth. • [0] Yudhisthira was born. That was just [127-5-25] prior to Kaliyug [roughly 3229-8-15 B.C] • [1] Bhima's Birth • [2] Arjun's Birth [Phalguna Full Moon Day]. Lord Krishna's birth [Shravana Dark 8th day] who was 6 months older to Arjun. • [3] Nakula's and Sahadev's Birth • [1] Duryodhana's Birth : Just one day after Bhima's birth. From that day onwards everyday the rest 99 Kauravas and their sister were born. • [16] Pandu died • [29] Pandavas wer...

Abhimanyu and The Chakravyuha

One of the paramount warriors of the great Sanskrit epic Mahabharata was Abhimanyu, son of Arjuna and Subhadra, nephew of Lord Krishna. Abhimanyu was trained to develop immense courage and skills in Archery, Swordsmanship and many other battle tactics by his father Arjuna, the greatest archer of all. The sixteen year old brave Abhimanyu fought alongside the Pandava King Yudhishthira in the great war of Kurukshetra, while Lord Krishna and Arjuna were averted towards the other side of the Battlefield by the great leader of the Kaurava army Dronacharya who was riding with Karna. Karna, the son of Surya was once gifted a divine weapon by Indra, for his selflessness and Karna would use the divine spear given to him to kill Arjuna. Drona realised this opportunity to evade Arjuna and defeat all the other warriors of the Pandava army by riding alongside Karna. Drona then commanded his soldiers to form the dreaded formation of “Chakravyuha”. The Chakravyuha is a military formation that looks like a Chakra or a blooming lotus, which is why it’s also called the “Padmavyuha”. Drona was able to successfully entrap many of the greatest warriors of the Pandava army with the help of the Chakravyuha formation. Among the greatest military formations in the Indian Mythology is the Chakravyuha formation where the soldiers encircle the enemies and trap them inside. This masterpiece, contrived by the Maha Guru of Pandavas and Kauravas, Dronacharya, could only be unravelled by his beloved studen...

Why Pandavas Could not Save Abhimanyu in the Mahabharata War?

To avenge the dishonor, he performed intense austerities to please Shiva. Mahabharata states that Jayadratha withdrew his sensual organs from all objects of pleasure. He bore hunger, thirst and heat and kept on chanting ‘Om Namah Shivaya’ in dense forest. He became so thin that he seemed to be made out of veins.

Abhimanyu Of Mahabharat

Abhimanyu, the son of Arjuna and Subhadra is one of the most celebrated heroes of the Mahabharata epic. Abhimanyu's birth The Pandavas had got half the kingdom. They had settled down at Indraprastha. Arjuna went on a pilgrimage. Krishna was his friend. He met Krishna at Somnath. Krishna took Arjuna to Dwarka. Arjuna was well respected and taken care of at Dwaraka. There, he saw Krishna’s sister Subhadra and was attracted towards her. He expressed his desire to marry her to Krishna. Those days, swayamvara was a widely prevalent practice for marriage among the Kshatriyas. But Krishna told Arjuna that he was not very sure whether Subhadra would make the right choice during a swayamvara. Another method of marriage permitted for the Kshatriyas as per dharma-shastra was abduction of the bride. Krishna told Arjuna to abduct Subhadra and take her to Indraprastha. Accordingly, Arjuna abducted Subhadra from the holy Raivataka Parvata which Subhadra was visiting to perform puja. It was love at first sight for Subhadra as well. Even though the Yadavas were enraged initially, Krishna convinced them and they reconciled. Everything became normal. Later, Subhadra gave birth to Abhimanyu at Indraprastha.
