Before getting started, there are some notes to better help you understand what a “pin” does in Microsoft Teams. First off, there is the definition of a “pin” itself. Pins are just shortcuts to certain apps and key aspects of Teams like chat or activity. The Microsoft Teams Sidebar will only show you a certain number of pins all at once. Once you reach above a threshold, other pins go into an overflow area, accessed by clicking the … on the bottom of the screen. You can pin an app or a Teams feature by clicking the … at the bottom of the screen, find your app, right-click it and then choose Pin. Pins should also save across the web and desktop versions of the app so you don’t have to change them manually. Step 2: Rearrange your pins by clicking and dragging them Once you’re pinned the apps or aspects of Teams that you want to use in the sidebar, you’ll be able to rearrange them. You can do this by simply holding down your click on the icon for the pin you want to move, and then dragging it up or down in the list. You should see a line appear, showing you where it will be “dropped” once you let go of your click. Hi all, I would like a way to change the default behaviour so that when I drag and drop a file into a chat it becomes "attached" instead of using my onedrive. If the above is not possible I will explain my issue incase the behaviour of onedrive can be modified instead: I was dragging and dropping very important files into the chat as if it were Skype, I suddenly found these important files were going missing from their organised local storage folders, when I use windows search much to my horror everything I had shared had been pulled out of its organised place and dumped into a onedrive folder: C:\Users\Username\OneDrive - CompanyName\Microsoft Teams Chat Files After spending a very long time manually moving these files back to where they belong, how do I stop this from ever happening again? I started using the "attach" feature instead but it is very tedious every time a colleague asks me if I have something that might help them accomplish a task I browse my documents first and if I find something that might help naturally I would expect to be able to drag and drop not have to click attach and manually navigate to the directory I was already in in Windows explorer anyway. Keep in mind that I don't wish for onedrive to globally keep files on both local/cloud storage either I do use onedrive properly for very large files that can't be stored locally as well. Hello, Does anybody know if the option to move files within the Files tab folder structure will be available by dragging and dropping? Hi everyone, We're fully migrating to Microsoft Teams with our project work and was wondering if there's an easy way to drag and drop files from the SharePoint to the 'Files' tab in Microsoft Teams? If you want to move files in SharePoint to show in the Files tab in Teams then you can use the Move to or Copy to function in SharePoint.
