Fans were left suprised to see Imran Khan in Ira Khan’s Eid pictures. The Delhi Belly boy made a rare appearance in Aamir Khan’s daughter’s post on Intagram, and he looked quite unrecognizable. Sharing the photos, Ira wrote“Did you know you’re eligible for eidi till you’re married?! I thought once you’re an adult (18) it’s done. @zaynmarie @sahabime HA HA. You learn something new everyday. Eid Mubarak😊.” (Image Source: Ira Khan Instagram) In November 2020, Akshay Oberoi confirmed that Imran had quit acting. In an interview with Navbharat Times, Akshay told, “My best friend in Bollywood is Imran Khan, who is no longer an actor because he has quit acting. Imran is my closest friend, whom I can get up at 4 am and call. Me and Imran have been with each other for almost 18 years, we studied acting together at Kishore Acting School in Andheri West.” He continued, “See, Imran Khan has left acting at the moment. As far as I know, there is a better writer and director inside Imran, I do not know when he will direct his film himself, I am not going to put any pressure, but as a friend, I think so he will direct his film soon. Also, when Imran Khan directs, I know he will make a wonderful film because his sensibility and understanding of cinema is very high.” Imran Khan made his acting debut as a child artiste at the age of 5 in the movie Qayamat se Qayamat tak in 1988. He played the role of Raj, young Aamir Khan in the movie. Imran Khan made his adult acting debut on the big screen ...

Imran Khan quits acting: Throwback to times when he spoke about his journey in Bollywood

Imran Khan made an impressive entry in films with 2008 release ‘Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na’. The much loved romantic entertainer launched him as a promising star in Bollywood but over the years, Imran decreased his screen presence. Revealing that Imran had quit acting, his friend Akshay Oberoi recently told Navbharat Times, “My best friend in Bollywood is Imran Khan, who is no longer an actor because he has quit acting.” While Imran has bid adieu to acting, here’s taking a look at times when the actor opened up about his journey in Bollywood. In 2015, Imran Khan had opened up how the audience was harsh on him, while attributing the success of his films to the directors. “I have never felt I quite got my due. I have often felt that in my career I have done good films, hit movies but the credit somehow goes to the director and people say ‘he made him act’ or to the promotions. But when a film flops the responsibility is mine and somehow all the flops that I had, have been with big directors so I feel ‘You are such established directors and all the blame is on me!’ When I have given hits with first time directors then the credit goes to the producers. This has been a trend throughout my career. There is a strange perception about me,” he had told PTI. Imran Khan has had a mixed run at the box office with hits like ‘Delhi Belly’ and ‘Mere Brother Ki Dulhan’ and average movies like ‘Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola’ and ‘Katti Batti’. Opening up about rejections in Bollywood, Imran had ...

SMOKERS’ CORNER: THE RISE AND FALL OF IMRAN KHAN

The so-called ‘Imran Khan Project’ has been systematically dismantled. The dismantling was done by the same state institution that had first launched it with great fanfare — the military establishment (ME). A perception of a ‘void’ was created after the This project was initiated to fill the so-called void, especially when the ME became aware of a constituency that the ousted Musharraf had managed to create for himself. This constituency was largely made up of apolitical segments of the population. They had greatly enjoyed the fruits of Musharraf’s neoliberal economic manoeuvres. They also appreciated his projected image of being an ‘enlightened’ despot. But when the economy began to slide after 2006, Musharraf’s constituency was gripped by anxiety. He was also facing a protest movement by the lawyers’ community. The movement was soon joined by opposition parties. They were demanding the restoration of a controversial and populist chief justice that Musharraf had unceremoniously fired. Initially propped up as a stooge by the military establishment, Imran Khan would go on to commit the cardinal sin of Pakistani politics — never bite the hand that feeds you Musharraf was cognisant of the constituency that he had moulded. But it wasn’t a very politically active constituency. So, the ME’s media wing unleashed some gentlemen on private TV channels. These gentlemen began to rehash numerous debunked conspiracy theories first formulated during a rather paranoid period in the US a...
