In our analysis, we compared Walmart, Costco, Kroger, Target, and Home Depot, and we found Amazon’s operating statistics to be remarkably similar, including comparable rates of low profitability. To summarize our analysis, we concluded that Amazon should be regarded as a retailer, not a web-based tech platform giant.
