The Statue of Unity is nearly 50 storeys tall, and together with its three-level base measures 240 metres, making it theworld's tallest statue.Designed by Indian sculptor Ram V Sutar, the statue was made from scrap metal collected from around the country and is clad in bronze that will patina over time. Patel’s achievements and contributions to the country deserve to be honored and told to future generations. The Statue of Unity nestles in Gujarat, India, located on the Narmada River in the Kevadiya colony, facing the Sardar Sarovar Dam. To honor his work, Sutar and the rest of India have immortalized Patel in over 70,000 tonnes of steel, concrete, and bronze. Incredibly, the statue reaches up to 597 feet.
