Gujarat Titans (GT) hosted Mumbai Indians (MI) on Tuesday in an Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 clash. The Titans went into the fixture on the back of a seven-run win over Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), while MI's form showed three defeats from six matches. With the IPL campaign reaching halfway, both sides headed into the match looking to build momentum. Here, The Sporting News rounds-up the action. Who won GT vs MI IPL match? A superb batting performance led Gujarat Titans to victory, as they beat Mumbai Indians by 55 runs at the Narendra Modi Stadium. Shubman Gill's 56 from 34 balls led the way at the top of GT's order, before he was followed by 46 from David Miller and 42 from Abhinav Manohar, as the Titans posted an unbeatable 207/6 from their 20 overs. In reply, MI simply never got going and the writing was on the wall when captain Rohit Sharma went for just two caught and bowled to his opposite number Hardik Pandya, after facing only eight balls. There was a brief flurry from Cameron Green (33 off 26 balls) and a late stand from Nehal Wadhera (40 off 21 balls) but outside of them, MI simply couldn't mount a challenge. Noor Ahmad's 3/37 did most of the damage to their lineup, but he was ably supported by Rashid Khan (2/27) and, at the death, Mohit Sharma (2/38) as Pandya's GT claimed their fifth win of the season.
