The MT Series Pedigree

The MT Series Pedigree The MT Series today is a brand and lineup loved by riders around the world and runs the gamut for choice and variety, from the MT-10 flagship, MT-09, and MT-07 to the smaller MT-03, MT-25, MT-15, and MT-125. The series is now undoubtedly a signature part of Yamaha's motorcycle offerings, and has been developed over the years with the goal of dismissing conventional notions of what a naked sportbike should be in order to bring an entirely new kind of value to riders. This page summarizes the journey the MT Series has taken, from its MT-01 progenitor to the present day, based on the voices of the planners, engineers, and designers that created it. As its history spans over 15 years from the birth of the MT-01 in 2005 to the present day, and because not every new addition to the lineup was made according to clearly defined rules, the MT Series' story is not particularly simple or straightforward. However, behind the series' seemingly erratic and open-ended development lies the Monozukuri that sets Yamaha apart from its competitors. It painted a picture of what a naked motorcycle could be when unencumbered by the ever-tempting focus on speed and specs, and...

2022 Yamaha MT15 Launch Soon; To Get Bluetooth

2022 Yamaha MT15 launch expected in the coming few months. Certain leaks have revealed the new features it may come with… Around April last year, there were reports that Yamaha would update their MT-15 with certain new features ( For the year 2022, Yamaha will update the MT-15 with features such as dual-channel ABS system. Unlike the R15, MT15 is offered with a single channel ABS currently. Apart from this, Yamaha will also add Bluetooth connectivity features. It is likely to receive the same connectivity module as the one which was recently added to its R15 v4. We also expect that with the updated console, the bike can also receive the new switch-gear to go with the new connectivity module. What will be interesting to see is – if Yamaha plonks the upside down forks to the 2022 MT15 as the new R15 v4 now have them. Deep down we understand that to keep a fair bit of price difference with the R15, the MT15 may continue with the current telescopic set-up. With these new features, the MT15 is expected to receive a fair bit of price hike. It will also be interesting to see if the MT15 gets the engine tune similar to the new R15V4 or will it continue with the current set-up.
