New Yamaha RX100 to be launched in India soon, likely to get bigger engine

New Yamaha RX100, a neo-retro styled motorbike, has been confirmed for release in the Indian market. The next generation Yamaha RX100 will have a vastly enhanced packaging, and it will be positioned as one of the most reasonably priced motorcycles in the brand's lineup. To begin, the new Yamaha RX100 will likely be available with a larger and more powerful fuel-injected petrol engine while still providing a small and durable package for consumers seeking for a reliable commuter, according to Zigwheels. LED daytime running lights (DRLs), electric start, and a mostly digital instrument cluster are just a few of the additional amenities it will provide. It will, of course, use a new platform and have a revised suspension system. So far, we know that the bike will have wire-spoke wheels, a front suspension made of telescopic forks, and a rear suspension made of dual shock absorbers. It's probable that disc brakes up front and drum brakes in the back will do the job of slowing the vehicle down. The 125 cc engine used in many of the company's scooters sold in India is said to be part of the bike as well. Brand new RX100 with more powerful 150cc engine might potentially be available. This new motorcycle, whenever introduced in India, would presumably compete with bikes like the TVS Raider 125. Also, READ: Yamaha has not yet said when the new RX100 will be released in India, however speculation places the debut in late 2023 or early 2024. One of the most reasonably priced Yamaha m...

Iconic Yamaha RX100 to make a comeback in India? Here's what the new motorcycle can get

Yamaha RX100 is one of the popular classic bikes in the Indian market and has been liked by enthusiasts for its performanceas well as stylish design. However, the bike was discontinued because of its 2-stroke engine. But it continued to remain a popular vehicle; even after 24 years of stoppingproductionand sales, the bike is still in demand. Considering the same, Yamaha is planning on bringing back the classic motorcycle to the Indian market. However, the bike's reincarnation is still under doubt, considering the other dimensions of the launch, like the name's legacy. Eishin Chihana, Chairman of Yamaha Motor India, in a statementto Hindu Business, stated, "We want to bring back the RX100 brand, but there are two points — RX100 is a two-stroke engine and complying with the BS6 engine is impossible now. But, certainly, giving the name to a new model is in our plan. Having said that, once we put the RX100 on a brand/some aspiring model … the reincarnation with modern styling/ flavour is a big challenge. We have a plan, but we should not use the RX100 name so easily … it will ruin the image. RX100 cannot be a quick plan/decision … it should be an impactful package with a powerful engine and design." Also read: It is to be noted considering the BS-6 norms; the Yamaha RX100 can not be launched in India. Hence, the bike needs a new engine with fuel-injection technology to be revived in the country. Moreover, considering the changes and updates needed, the bike can be launched aro...

Details of Old Yamaha RX 100 Shared For Representational Purposes Only Eishin Chihana, Chairman of Yamaha Motor India, recently shared an update regarding the relaunch of the Yamaha RX100 - “We want to bring back the RX100 brand but there are two points: RX100 is a two-stroke engine and complying with the BS6 engine is impossible now. But, certainly giving the name to a new model is in our plan. Once we put the RX100 on a brand/some aspiring model ... the reincarnation with modern styling/flavour, is an enormous challenge.” “We have a plan, but we should not use the RX100 name so easily, it will ruin the image. RX100 cannot be a quick plan/decision. It should be an impactful package with a powerful engine and design.” Another recent report suggests that Yamaha is considering a larger 175cc to 200cc engine for the revival of the RX nameplate. Recreating the original RX100 would be very difficult without breaking the bank. And even with all the positive sentiment that the Chairperson has for this iconic 100cc motorcycle, it is very unlikely that he would go through all this trouble just to get the same bike in the market. He also mentioned that a larger displacement bike would make an original impact while carrying the performance image of the old RX100. When asked about a launch date for the new model of Yamaha RX 100, Chihana said it could be after 2026 because the company has other models planned until 2025. The Yamaha RX 135 STD is the only version of the RX 135 model av...
